We celebrate a woman of stature and dignity. Marian Samu has spent decades in the journalism field as a journalist and mentor.

She started practicing journalism in 1989 as a part time reporter. One of the few print female journalists then she worked for the News Storm Newspaper, served as a Columnist, Editor-in Chief for the Liberty Voice Newspaper, as Managing Editor Wisdom Newspaper among others.

She has worked at Ministry of Information and Communications where she started as Information Officer and rose to the rank of Acting Director of Information.

As a Development Specialist, she has worked at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as Communication Analyst; Gender Consultant and Trainer, currently serving as a Commissioner at the National Commission for Democracy.

She has held several positions in Journalism organisations and once served as the vice president of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists. We applaud and appreciate her contributions.
