Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) Physicists are building a new machine--an Electron-Ion Collider--to look inside the protons and neutrons that make up the atomic nucleus. The EIC will be a particle accelerator that collides electrons with protons and nuclei to produce snapshots of those particles' internal structure.

Today at the Winter Meeting on Nuclear Physics (Bormio, Italy), the LHCb collaboration announced the discovery of a new beauty baryon particle, the Λb**0!
