Netball is a sport played in over 70 countries and now we are reintroducing it in Sweden. Played in a similar style to Basketball, there are a few differences: no moving with the ball, no dribbling, no backboard on the goal, 7 players in set positions on court, no physical contact and just 3 seconds to pass the ball! That makes it a fast moving, interactive team sport that is great for hand-eye coordination.
The greatest thing of all is that you need no experience, come along, bring your friends and try this weekend!

It’s been a while Uppsala Netball but is anyone interested in some drills and shooting practice?
After a hugely successful international tournament in Stockholm 2 weeks ago, it’s time to build the club in Uppsala so we can contribute more players next time 🎉
Please comment if you are interested in playing again and let me know your best day availability for recurring meeting!
After a great weekend with netballers from around Sweden, we’re hoping to continue the fire with another training session on Sunday at 2pm! Location tbc (around central Uppsala) - like this post if you’re able to join 🏐
We’re having issues with both the posts on this page and finding an indoor venue for Sunday! For the latter issue, would everyone be happy to play outside around 2?
And for the former issue, I will start posting about training more in a messenger group chat to ensure everyone sees it so please message if you would like to be added!

Who invented netball?
While it’s reported the sport was modified from basketball, it appears a Swede, Martina Bergman Österberg, is in fact the founder of netball.
