Call for Presentations for Netnod Tech Meeting 2026 is open!

We welcome presentations that share operational insights, deployment experience, research findings, or lessons learned relevant to this year's theme, "Protecting the core. Building the future. Celebrating 30 years of Internet infrastructure."

Every speaker and topic is submitted to our Programme Committee of industry experts to ensure that the content is technically relevant.

Polar Connect: What does it take to rethink the global map of the Internet?

At Netnod Meeting 2026, Erik-Jan Bos, Senior Advisor, NORDUnet, will present the latest developments from the pioneering Polar Connect Initiative, a new digital highway to link the Northern Nordics, North America, and East Asia via the shortest possible route across the Central Arctic Ocean.

Polar Connect is more than a submarine cable, it is a long-term investment in resilience, sovereignty, and scientific collaboration, with a clear potential to redefine the global Internet traffic flows between the Northern Nordics, Japan, Canada, the USA, and South Korea.

When ready for service, Polar Connect will position the Nordics as a strategic digital hub with transit connectivity, creating an ideal location for the expansion of data centres.

At Netnod Meeting 2026, Jonas Cronholm-Lundin will discuss "Incident Management – A Logistics Problem." In this session, Jonas reframes crisis response as a challenge of flow: getting the right signals, information and context to the right people at the right time.

Drawing on his experience leading critical infrastructure at Swish and Engineering Effectiveness at LeoVegas, Jonas will discuss moving beyond static compliance toward the OODA loop (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act). Attendees will learn how actionable playbooks and well-trained processes ensure teams can navigate complex disruptions with precision and speed.

Experts, public authorities and industry representatives from across the country are meeting today at the Netnod Time Summit 2025 – a full-day event dedicated to strengthening Sweden’s digital resilience through robust and traceable time.

Together with the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS), Netnod is leading discussions and sharing insights about how to reduce dependence on vulnerable satellite-based systems (GNSS) and build more resilient time infrastructure for the future.
