One step closer.

One step forward…
It was impossible to find new hinges with the correct hole pattern. I ended up hard soldering brass to the old hinge. This allowed me to move the holes for the screws to an area of the frame which has more material.
Feeling fast today.

Back at it with the window frames. The old center frame was in bad shape and hade a interesting ”quick fix”. The two smaller frames had part of the frame replaced due to cracks. There’s no stop on the hinge and very little material to fasten the hinges in. Hoping to find a better solution to this.

Home assistant update! I wanted a way to remotely monitor the battery status of boats and vehicles on the island.
I use products from Jkbms in Elektra, the ATV and the Volvo c202. Elektra and the ATV use the bms+balancer while the c202 uses three CAN-enabled balancer-only devices.
Common for all is the use of Bluetooth. The HA Rpi 5 is located in the house and the Bluetooth signal is not strong enough. I used esp32 devkits with external antenna to create a ble-to-WiFi bridge. One esp32 responsible for polling data from the c202 and the ATV. Another esp32 is used to monitor Elektra.
A “card” is created in HA for each battery pack. The ATV has a built in battery pack heater and with the use of a Shelly plug I’m able to control heating and charging remotely. The same will be implemented in the c202.
HA opens up a world of possibilities. For example, why not use the 20kWh in Electra as a “home battery”?
More to come!

Thinking about boating! it’s going to take a fair amount of energy to turn this mess into water again :)
