We’re working with the maternity care unit in Stockholm, Mödrahälsovårdsenheten, to add new languages to Preventivguiden! (https://www.preventivguiden.se/sv/)

Thousands of people get contraceptive advice from the site every week, which Ocean originally designed together with Mödrahälsovårdsenheten in 2016.

Until yesterday, it required that you can read and understand Swedish. But today we added English as an option! And we’re planning for several additional languages to be added over the next few months.

The VC part of Norrsken makes their first investment from the new fund in our sister company !!

Hej! Vi söker med ljus och lykta efter personer som har eller har haft hudcancer (även kallat malignt melanom) för intervjuer om hur du/de upplevt sin resa genom vården! Betalt deltagande såklart.

Kriteriet är: Att du/personen någon gång blivit erbjuden (dvs. antingen tackat nej, genomgår just nu eller har genomgått) efterbehandling/adjuvant behandling (tilläggsbehandling efter operation för att minska risken för återfall) och därmed är i stadium III.

As part of the Time Well Spent Sweden movement, we joined Internetdagarna to discuss the attention economy and digital services - with a design perspective of course. Design has been a big part of the problem, but is a big part of way forward if done right. We especially enjoyed the final panel with Gustav Martner, Facebook, Samsung and Alex Therapautics.

Together with the fantastic staff at Tensta Vårdcentral and Souzan Youssouf from Usify we are exploring how design methods can be used to better understand patients’ perspective and needs.

During the fall Ocean has been part of Närmare! A project aiming to strengthen, challenge and explore new grounds for service design within healthcare. Six different pilots are running in parallell, each exploring a different challenge through design. In one of the pilots we are working with the staff at Tensta Vårdcentral to create new ways of understanding the patient perspective focusing on self care and lifestyle changes.

Hepatitis C is a severe infectious disease that mainly affects the liver. If left untreated, it can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer. These days there are effective treatments and new drugs on the market are easier to take, have fewer side-effects and cures more than 95% of the treated patients.

But there’s a problem; since the virus is blood-borne, the disease is often stigmatized because it is associated with injection drug use. There are numerous other ways of contracting the disease, but the stigmatization raises the threshold for people to seek care.
