Can Complex Systems Science solve humanity's challenges? Meet the world's top researchers, December 8-9th in Stockholm

Complex Systems Science Gathering 2019 will for the first time bring together some of the world's foremost researchers from Complex Systems Science in Stockholm. The group will meet with Swedish stakeholders and change agents from academia, business and civil society to explore how complex science can help solve humanity's serious and highly complex challenges, and together upgrade scientific models that enable decision makers and investors to make globally sustainable strategic decisions.

Humankind now faces challenges that are unprecedented! Leaders must be better prepared to assess the crises of survival that is already underway, anticipate rapidly emerging new threats, and accurately evaluate the ecological limits of planet Earth. To take on the world's challenges, strategic initiatives and new forms of cooperation are needed beyond what we have today. We see an urgent need for transformative solutions where academia and business meet to begin the transition - to create a regenerative society.

The purpose of the gathering is to create a forum where experiences are shared among researchers in complex adaptation systems and Swedish authorities, institutions, business, media, academic and educational environments - as well as a wide range of public stakeholders in the growing conversation about the enormous complexity of climate disruptions.

The international delegation is led by Dr. Stuart Kauffman, one of the most influential complex systems researchers in the world, and Dr. Merle Lefkoff, a highly experienced UN diplomatic negotiator, who will facilitate the discussions.
