Crust texture, using Vallejo diorama FX, then followed up with some washes, really simple diluted Ceramcoat paint for even coverage on plastic, metal and two different flavors of spray paint. One more dusting with rattle can when the rain stops, then the electronics.

Experimenting with a low cost lighting kit for the stands.. will be *mostly* backward compatible with older stands.

Pro tip- oven cleaner is a good delicate paint remover, and can even strip paint from many types of plastic without melting it. (Attention modelers and people who do the warhammers)
