I went for the Woodworking for beginners A course, and I had such a great time while also feeling that I learnt valuable skills in both woodworking and how to use powertools safely. I was happy with the project I made and Kevin is a great teacher. I strongly recommend this course to anyone who is curious about woodworking, and I will definitely return for the B course.

From broken chairs to material for our design challenge, to more left over parts turned into material that can be used again. It's amazing how versatile wood material is and the reason why there are so many opportunities for re-use!

Träffa en av våra nya kursledare– Sten Selander!

Sten Selander är konsult, utbildare och praktiker med en lång karriär inom design, produktion och innovationsarbete i kreativa branscher. Han har en gedigen bakgrund inom traditionellt hantverk, med utbildning i möbelsnickeri, inredning och fri konst vid Capellagården samt erfarenhet som verkstadsansvarig inom snickeri och möbelproduktion.
Hans arbetssätt kombinerar strategiskt tänkande med materialkännedom – där idé möter utförande. I sina kurser på Refab Lab fokuserar Sten på praktiska färdigheter, process och problemlösning, med utgångspunkt i både industriell erfarenhet och klassiskt hantverk.

"På Refab Lab handlar kurserna inte om prestation eller perfektion, utan om nyfikenhet, skaparglädje och gemenskap. Målet är att deltagarna ska känna sig trygga, inspirerade och gå hem med något de faktiskt byggt själva."

I sommar kommer Sten att undervisa i två nya klasser under dagtid - Gör ett användbart skrin trä och Möbelrenovering. Kurserna hålls på svenska och engelska.

Meet one of our new teachers, Sten Selander!

Sten Selander is a senior consultant, educator, and hands-on maker with a long career spanning design, production, and innovation across creative industries. Sten has a solid foundation in traditional craftsmanship, with formal training in cabinet making, furniture design, and fine arts from Capellagården, as well as practical experience managing woodworking workshops.

His approach combines strategic thinking with material understanding—bridging concept and ex*****on. In his courses at Refab Lab, Sten focuses on practical skills, process, and problem-solving, drawing from both industrial experience and traditional craft methods.

"At Refab Lab, the courses are not about performance or perfection, but about curiosity, the joy of creation and community. The goal is for participants to feel safe, inspired and go home with something they have created themselves."

During summer, Sten will teach two new classes during the day- Make a useful wooden box and Furniture refinishing. Instruction is held in Swedish and English.

One of our access members began her journey with no experience at all. After our classes and joining our evening access membership, she is successfully designing and building her own projects! We are impressed!

We feel inspired after attending the Loop Forum last month, where municipalities, startups, established businesses and innovators come together to discuss how circularity can solve many business critical challenges.

It is clear that sustainable practice through circular innovation and creativity is the future of business, and must be an integral part of growth.

Stopping by IKEA Copenhagen's public rooftop garden on our walk back to the train was a nice bonus!

It was great to visit Sliparebackens Finsnickeri AB during their open woodshop event. Amazing shop that is so organized and with super friendly and talented carpenters!
