Introducing Wild Duck Jeans from our newest addition BIG JOHN JEANS.

We are thrilled to add another renowned Japanese Denim brand to Hepcat Store. Introduced in founded in 1940 by Kotaro Ozaki in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. Originally started as Maruo Clothing making school uniforms and workwear, it evolved to become the godfather of Japanese denim and was the first domestic denim producers in Japan. After World War II, U.S. servicemen stationed in Japan left behind blue jeans, which flooded Tokyo and black markets near military bases and sparked Japans long relation and dedication to American military and workwear. BIG JOHN was a pioneer in introducing jeans to the Asian market, and has since then paved the way for many fantastic brands.

Back to the jeans we are highlighting, the Wild Duck wide fit jeans. It follows de brands deep pursuit of vintage authenticity with a vision for the future. After a relentless search for rich texture and expression, the answer we found was “fallen cotton.”

By using 40% recycled materials (20% fallen cotton and 20% regenerated cotton), BIG JOHN transformed what would normally be discarded into premium vintage-feel denim. The natural nep texture of the fabric adds warmth and a sense of craftsmanship, making this a piece that becomes uniquely yours with wear.

Blending cotton waste with reclaimed fibers gives the fabric irregular slubbing and surface depth, resulting in denim with distinctive character and soul.

BIG JOHN continues its commitment to responsible craftsmanship through eco-conscious development. The GREEN LABEL on WILD DUCK JEANS stands as a symbol of coexistence with nature and a new step toward sustainable denim.

This is BIG JOHN’s proposal for living in harmony with the Earth.

Swedish summer has finally arrived, which, as tradition dictates, means plenty of rain, chilly mornings, and the occasional glimpse of sunshine.

Luckily, some things are built for exactly this kind of weather. The Freenote RJ-3 50's Denim Jacket is a faithful tribute to the iconic denim jackets of the 1950’s. Crafted from premium 13-ounce Japanese selvedge denim, the RJ-3 blends historic design cues with modern artisan craftsmanship.
