He grew up in southern Sweden and became a pro skateboarder during the first wave of skateboarding—winning the European Freestyle Championship at just 14.

Skateboarding became his freedom—a way to break loose, surf through society, and escape school and the small village where he was raised.

At 15, he was drumming in a local punk band and released a five-track EP. He played concerts across Sweden, including shows in the Free State of Christiania in Copenhagen, Denmark.

By 16, Steffan was busking the streets of Europe.
He lived for many years in Spain, Germany, France, England, and Denmark, and also traveled through South America, South Africa, and the U.S., playing in local bands with strong grassroots followings.

He never gave up busking—even after topping commercial charts, going gold and platinum with his band Undrop, writing songs for Eurovision, and achieving many other commercial successes.

In the mid-’90s, he stepped away from the mainstream, living as a monk in temples across Europe and making pilgrimage journeys to India.

He started recording and producing music early on, always with his own recording equipement. He’s recorded songs in caves, on beaches, in abandoned buildings, forests, castles, and countless other unique places.

With over 1,000 recordings and more than 1,500 concerts and shows behind him, he’s collaborated with artists all over the world and continues to expand his global creative network.

While he’s explored many musical styles over the years, he’s come full circle—returning to the raw rock-punk energy that shaped his youth.

He never stopped moving. Steffan lives on the road, guided more by instinct than destination—turning countless places into temporary homes.
