With so many beautiful Mercedes oldtimers turning up at the MB Club meeting this weekend, I can't avoid deviating from my principle of focusing on the Mercedes-Benz Ponton model (and then with priority on my 219 which has been in the family since new).

Maybe someone can "help" me with the correct model designations of the three, body-on-frame Mercedes immortalized in this photo? If you can also figure out the correct product years, you will impress, not only me!

May I tempt you with another picture of a Mercedes-Benz 300b -55 and my 219 -57, of course from the same car manufacturer (if it's not clear from the radiator ornament...)?

My Mercedes-Benz 219 Ponton from -57 parked behind an equally beautiful and black Mercedes-Benz 300B -55 Adenauer. The size difference, which I haven't really thought of before, is very obvious.... I wish my father had bought not only the 219 but also an Adenauer. They are such impressive cars. Also when it comes to the price tag; it was more than double what the 219 cost.

Some more eye-candy, one of the, more or less handmade, Mercedes-Benz Ponton coupes. In this case the carbureted version, 220S coupe.

Even though I focus on Mercedes-Benz' Ponton models from the 50ies and early 60ies I can't resist to share this 230 (W153) from -39. Not often you see such a model up here in the north.
