Welcome to the world of My Swedish Girlfriend, an international duo based in Stockholm featuring Frank and Petra.
Bold, vibrant synth-pop with a retro punch and a modern twist. "My Man" is the new single off the upcoming album "Nothing But Static."
"I Design You" has slightly darker lyrics. Frank wrote it years ago, but we started working on the song a while back because it was simply too good to stay hidden in a drawer. I love singing it. It will be released soon, and then you’ll get to hear the full lyrics!
Join us to see our creative process when we’re writing, creating, recording, and releasing our music. In general, almost all of our songs start with Frank improvising on the guitar or piano. Then, a melody and a hook are born in Petra’s head. That’s usually how our songs come to life, but of course we work on them a lot after that!
Some of them have been worked on for years to make sure we find the right vibe. We have several releases coming up now, and we can’t wait to hear what you think of them!🤩🎧

Winters are not really our thing. May and June are more our favorite months! 😎🌞
But ONE thing about the dark, endless Swedish winters, though, is that they’re kind of custom-made for staying indoors and creating music!

Naked Eyes - ”Always something there to remind me”. Frank spent a lot of money buying records back in the days, and this gem is one of them. Classic synthpop from the 80s! You just cannot NOT love their catchy, melodic music. And the voice of the singer Peter Byrnes is just sooo smooth and nice!

Album of the week: Talking Heads. True stories 1986.
A part of Frank’s album collection from US has made it all the way here to Sweden ( A few albums in our bags every trip home ). Don’t you agree that there is a genuinely good feeling about holding a record in your hands?
This one was bought at Everybody’s Records in Portland, OR, and it still has it’s plastic cover and stickers on! Everybody’s Records was a big record store, and it was the place to drive to when the urge for a new album kicked in! The store survived until the 90’s.
