This past winter season was a special one for us - and memorable in more ways than one.

While enjoying consistently cold temperatures in yet another busy winter on the tracks, we also celebrated a milestone that means a lot to us: 40 years of winter testing at Colmis. ❄️

Over the past months, we’ve taken some time to reflect on that journey - where we started, the people who helped build Colmis, and the community that continues to shape it today.

Du blir en del av ett litet team med nära koppling till den dagliga verksamheten, där arbetsdagarna är varierande och tempot stundtals högt. Kundservice, administration och problemlösning går hand i hand - och ingen dag är riktigt den andra lik.

Behind every successful winter at Colmis, there’s a team that rarely seeks the spotlight - but without them, none of this would be possible. They are the backbone of our proving ground operations.

Long before the first test vehicles head out each morning, our track team is already hard at work preparing the tracks. Weekdays, weekends, holidays; in extreme cold, milder temperatures, wind, snow or fog, they always do their very best to ensure our customers arrive to tracks that are ready to perform, every single day of the winter.

It’s demanding work, often done behind the scenes, but it makes all the difference.

So today, we simply want to say: THANK YOU. To each and every one of you. Thank you for your commitment, professionalism and hard work throughout another winter season.

And instead of showing you the usual photos of tractors and track prep (you’ve seen plenty of those this winter), here’s a glimpse of a well-earned tradition: our annual blodpalt lunch - a northern Swedish specialty - with chefs Lennart and Åke preparing an absolutely fantastic meal for the team.

The 2025/2026 winter season at Colmis wrapped up a few weeks ago - and what a special one it has been.

This winter marked 40 seasons of testing, development, and collaboration at our proving ground. A milestone that really belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey.

From a weather perspective, it was one to remember as well. January and February brought some of the coldest and most consistent conditions we’ve seen in years, while March challenged us with warmer temperatures before allowing us to finish the season on a strong note.

Now, as things quiet down on the ice, our focus shifts forward. But before we fully move on, we’ll take a moment to look back.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing some of the moments that made this winter what it was.

Ever thought of running on a frozen lake?

This Saturday, you can do exactly that at Colmis.

The Arjeplog Ice Run is taking place at our proving ground - a chance to run on some of the very same tracks used for winter vehicle testing during the season.

Distances:
• Kids run – 1 km (starts 10:30)
• 5 km
• 10 km (2 loops)

The forecast looks promising: crisp minus temperatures in the morning and sunshine throughout the day ❄️☀️

Still time to join:
• 50 SEK (kids)
• 150 / 200 SEK (adults)

January delivered exactly what winter testing dreams are made of, with an average temperature of –17°C. ❄️

And February? It’s not holding back.
So far, we’re averaging –19°C, with the last few days oscillating between –25°C and –35°C. 🥶

Stable, sustained cold is what makes winter testing predictable, reliable and efficient. No surprises. No fluctuations. Just proper Arctic conditions.

A special shoutout to our amazing Driver Training Instructor Team who have been standing outside for hours in these extreme conditions, delivering first-class sessions on our Event Lake. Respect. 🙌🏼

The photos show a misty, crisp morning during a recent training session - proper winter atmosphere at its best.

While most are still asleep, our track team is already out. And this morning, they were treated to something extra special.
Early track preparations, rewarded with a front-row seat to the Northern Lights. 🤩

Another day getting ready for our customers. Another reason we love what we do. ✨💙

Huge credit to our track team for the outstanding work they do; whether sunny or stormy, night or day, weekday or holiday. ❄️

The lake is ready 🧊

After weeks of careful work on the ice, we reached the thickness that allows heavy equipment to move safely onto the frozen lake. The final phase of lake-track shaping is underway - refining surfaces and getting everything lined up for the first testers to drive on the lake next week.

Winter is exactly where it should be.

We’re grateful for everything 2025 brought with it, and excited about what lies ahead in 2026.

The last testers of 2025 left our proving ground today - and in just a few days, the first customers of 2026 will arrive, as early as January 2. ❄️🚗

While many take a well-deserved break during the holidays, a special thank you goes to our track and operations teams, who keep all tracks in top-notch condition as we prepare for the peak of the season.
