PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We all have heard of projects. People used to say that they did that project, this project and these were the issues they encountered and these were the outcomes of the projects. But do We really understand what a project is about and what characteristics inherent in the word “Project”..?.
When We are defining what a project is, one of the best sources of reference is the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), published by the Project Management Institute, United States. As per the PMBOK guidelines, a project is a temporary endeavor, with a beginning and end, in aiming the creation of a unique product, service, or result.
Well, as per the definition, most of the things we do in day-to-day life can be classified as projects, though We do it unknowingly. The Project Management is nothing else, planning, organizing, and managing resources of the project so that the project objectives are met, minimizing the unnecessary costs, time and resources. Therefore, learning Project Management, not only benefits our Organizations but also will help us to manage our day-to-day tasks, in a more meaningful manner.
