This evening, the family of our former palliative care patient, Demba Darius, visited Al Amal to share their gratitude and honor his final wish. Instead of flowers, his friends and family donated to support palliative care patients. We are deeply thankful. 🤍

Today, Al Amal provided school materials and feeding fees to 47 students under its education support program. Grateful families expressed their thanks and praised Allah for this continued support.

Yesterday, the Al Amal team held a productive discussion with leadership on leveraging their digital platform to enhance the delivery of palliative care services.

This morning, our team conducted home visits to palliative care patients in Nyarugenge & Kicukiro. We shared conversations about their health, feelings, and care needs. Every visit is a step of compassion

After few days without physical contacts with our palliative care patients due to Marburg Outbreak, today our multidisciplinary team (medical doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, spiritualists and volunteers) continued home visits.

By providing holistic supports under the palliative care program. During this week we have been distributing school materials and school feeding contributions for the academic year 2024-2025 to students from our patients' families.
The goal of this year is to excel in their studies and strive for good grades.
Their parents were also reminded of their crucial role in actively monitoring their children's education.

The main topic of today's home visits was to explain "what purpose or meaning life has and how we make sense of the world". Because spiritual issues are often very important to people who know that they are coming to the end of their lives.

Training does not end when a teaching session finishes; we all need to continue learning as we work. Palliative care always faces us with new challenges and it can be helpful to reflect on these with other members of the team.
