Old Mutual has been operating in Rwanda since 2015, having acquired a majority stake in the UAP Insurance Holdings group. In 2021, the business has fully rebranded and is now operating as Old Mutual Insurance Rwanda Plc. Old Mutual Rwanda is part of the Old Mutual Group which employ over 30 000 people and operate in 14 countries across two regions: Africa (South Africa, Botswana, eSwatini, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe) and Asia (China). Originating in South Africa in 1845, Old Mutual has been listed on the London and Johannesburg Stock Exchange, among others.
