How can digital tools best help migrants prepare for rebuilding life in a new country?
Refugees resettling to tested the new VINCE app during a Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) training in , organized by IOM Finland in collaboration with IOM Rwanda.
Designed to provide relevant and accessible information from reliable sources, the app is being developed to counter misinformation and offer support for migrants both before departure and after arrival.
Feedback from the PDO participants helps determine whether the app is useful, how well its features work in practice, and if migrants would choose to use it as part of their migration and integration process.
The VINCE project is funded by the EU and is a cooperation between Swedish and Finnish partners, led by the Turku University of Applied Sciences.

Today, as part of his farewell tour, UN Resident Coordinator Ozonnia Ojielo visited IOM Rwanda staff, where he shared a message of appreciation and highlighted IOM’s strong solidarity within the UN system.
“IOM has been central to the work of the UN system in Rwanda,” he noted, commending the Organization’s leadership and contributions.
In his remarks, IOM Rwanda Chief of Mission Ash Carl praised Mr. Ojielo’s professionalism and leadership throughout his tenure and wished him every success in his new role in Ethiopia.
