She noted the need to continue investing in talent development, enhancing the skills of coaches, and establishing clear pathways that enable players to fully realize their potential, emphasizing that this is where meaningful progress in sports begins.

The African Men’s Club Volleyball Championship is taking place from April 22 to May 3, 2026, bringing together 24 teams from 15 countries, selected from 37 that had applied to participate.

Africa’s Biggest Club Volleyball Showdown Begins in Kigali

KIGALI Rwanda is hosting the 47th CAVB Men’s Club Championship for the first time in Sub-Saharan Africa, bringing 24 top clubs from 15 countries to compete from April 20 to May 3.

Matches at BK Arena and Petit Stade feature continental giants like Al Ahly, alongside rising teams looking to shake up the status quo long dominated by North Africa.

Rwanda is strongly represented by APR, Police, REG, and Kepler, with home support adding extra momentum.

Beyond the title, teams are battling for a place at the FIVB Club World Championship making Kigali the center of African volleyball this week.
