When land restoration efforts delivers measurable results, it builds confidence for continued investment.

Sustained support reflects more than financial commitment, it signals trust in locally led approaches, evidence of impact on the ground, and a shared ambition to protect natural resources while strengthening livelihoods and resilience.
This is a reminder that lasting change happens when institutions, communities, and partners align around a common vision.
Women make up over 60% of beneficiaries, and their experiences show how land restoration is changing lives.
Yvonne shares how, before the project, finding cooking fuel was difficult and erosion often washed crops away. Today, trees planted through the initiative help improve soil, retain rainwater, and make farming more stable, bringing real benefits to her family and community.
Her story is a reminder that when women are supported, both people and the environment thrive.

Why does carbon matter?
Carbon emissions are heat-trapping gases that contribute to climate change, affecting weather patterns, ecosystems, and livelihoods. Through land restoration, clean cooking, and sustainable energy solutions, has helped avoid 625,989 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, reducing climate risks and supporting healthier environments for communities across the Mayaga region.
This is what climate action looks like in practice: protecting both people and nature.
Education is a powerful driver of environmental stewardship.
Through ’s support to schools, students at APPEC College are translating learning into action, planting trees, caring for their environment, and strengthening a culture of responsibility among young people.
As Ignace Ndayisaba shares, this experience shows how investing in education can nurture the next generation of environmental leaders and reinforce long-term sustainability at the community level.
