Today, Auditor General, Alexis KAMUHIRE has participated in a panel of discussions with the theme “Value for money auditing: Ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in public spending.”
The three-days event was organized by The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (ICPAR) at Classic Resort Lodge Hotel in Musanze District.

Panelists argued that reform is essential to strengthen service delivery, protect public resources, and build trusted institutions. They also say that Transparency, zero corruption, and resilient systems are the path to long term transformation.

Auditors from our office have recently concluded a 3-day workshop facilitated by UK National Audit Office on audit impacts. The workshop aimed at learning from their experience in measuring and reporting audit impacts. Both sides exchanged success stories and agreed to continue collaborating under the existing bilateral agreement.

Happy Liberation Day

The Office of the Auditor General (OAG), in partnership with Afrosai-E, has concluded a 5-day training on environmental auditing for performance audit staff.

“The environment means our life — that’s why we’re committed to checking how it’s protected,” said the Auditor General, Alexis Kamuhire, during the closing session.

The Auditor General, Alexis Kamuhire, received Mr. Modou Ceesay, Auditor General of the Gambia, and his delegation on a courtesy visit. They discussed strengthening collaboration between OAG Rwanda and the National Audit Office of Gambia (NAO Gambia) in audit methodologies and practices.

OAG received a delegation from Malawi’s Ministry of Finance for a study visit. Discussions focused on the role of the Office of the Auditor General in Public Finance Management and strategies for auditing revenue and expenditure across public institutions.
