That is exactly the gap the Quality Apprenticeship Pilot Program in Software Development is built to close. SOLVIT AFRICA in partnership with the , .org, and , is launching this 6-month structured apprenticeship program that places assessed Level 5 TVET graduates inside real ICT companies, where they work on real projects, receive formal workplace training, and earn a competency certificate backed by RTB-approved standards.

We are selecting 25 ICT companies to host apprentices from August 2026 to January 2027. Companies co-fund the apprenticeship while the program covers the larger share of support, making this one of the most cost-effective ways to access and shape emerging tech talent in Rwanda.

What a way to close out the month of May.

Friday marked the finale of our Hackathon, and it was nothing short of electric.15 teams. One stage. Endless innovation.

Our finalists didn't just pitch ideas, they walked into a room with our CEO, judges, company leaders, and their peers, and showed the world what they've been building. Bold business solutions, real vision, and the courage to put their ideas on the line.

After incredible showcases, we selected our Top 5, but let's be clear: every single team that made it to this stage is a winner. Showing up is the first act of courage and initiative to make a change.

To every participant, never underestimate the power of putting your idea out there. You never know who's watching. You never know who's inspired. That one moment of visibility could be the start of something that changes your life.

We are proud to announce that SOLVIT AFRICA is partnering with the and the .org with the generous financial support from (Luxembourg), to implement the Quality Apprenticeship Pilot, a structured work-based learning initiative connecting young Rwandan tech talent with leading employers in Kigali.

This program places 50 apprentices with 25 host companies over six months, combining on-the-job training with mentorship, stipend support, and industry-aligned competency development.

At SOLVIT AFRICA, we believe quality apprenticeship is one of the most direct bridges between skills and employment, and we are committed to making this pilot a model worth scaling.

Last week, we had the opportunity to host an engaging Info Session with Suncheon Jeil College - Korean Center in Viet Nam from South Korea, bringing together ambitious Rwandan youth ready to explore opportunities beyond borders.
