When you travel to Saint Petersburg, there are high chances that you will also visit Pushkin, a small town where Catherine the Great Palace is situated. There, in Pushkin, you can also visit The Imperial Lyceum (Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum).
Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum was founded 210 years ago. It was a higher education school for the children of nobles in the Russian Empire. In Russian history, it is known, first of all, as the school that brought up Alexander Pushkin, a Russian poet.

Today is a good day to get familiar with the works of a famous Soviet writer and playwright Evgeny Schwartz (1896-1958).
In 1944, Schwartz completed the satirical play The Dragon, which was seen as subversive in the political climate of post-war Russia. The play tells the story of the knight Lancelot, who sets out to slay the dragon. However, in his quest, he stumbles on a community governed by a bureaucratic hierarchy using the dragon to cover their own use of power. A filmed version, To Kill a Dragon, was produced in 1988.
The Ordinary Miracle, now Russian classics, is a romantic and philosophical parable on love and the relationship between the creator and his creation. This play was made into films in 1964 and in 1978.

Moscow is a huge metropolis where 24/7 you can get almost everything you need. This city offers you a big variety of good, but it is not an easy task to find a restaurant with traditional pre-revolutionary Russian cuisine. The truth is that we only know a little about Russian cuisine and we forgot what was the Russian food like before the USSR. Indeed, not every Russian, not to mention foreigners, will be able to go beyond the ‘traditional list’ – borsch (which, by the way, is of Ukrainian origin), pancakes, dumplings, caviar, vodka, kvas. But in traditional Russian cuisine, there are not even dozens, but hundreds of recipes that were forgotten.
