Responsible AI governance is becoming a boardroom conversation, and Radu Stefan has been building the academic and operational foundation for it for years.
Radu is a Microsoft MVP for Artificial Intelligence, a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in responsible AI governance. He spent over a decade at Microsoft Romania across consulting, partner management, and AI evangelism - and holds an Executive MBA.
In the AI Executives Workshop, Radu leads the governance and trust module: separating AI reality from hype, building responsible AI frameworks that hold up under regulatory scrutiny, and giving leadership teams the vocabulary to answer the hard questions their boards, auditors, and regulators are starting to ask.
The EU AI Act is in force, and while 60% of senior leaders cite knowledge gaps as the primary barrier to responsible adoption, that's exactly the gap Radu's work in the workshop is designed to close.

The organizations making durable progress in AI aren't the ones that picked the best model, but the ones that answered the harder questions first:
➢ Which business processes are worth transforming with AI?
➢ What's our actual risk tolerance - not the aspirational version, the operational one?
➢ Who owns AI decisions, and what governance structure sits around that ownership?
➢ What does our workforce need to change, and who leads that?

𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 - years of being treated as an IT concern, then a regulatory audit, then a board question, then suddenly a line item in every enterprise procurement checklist.
𝗔𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, and by most indicators, it's compressing 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲.
The regulatory pressure is already concrete: the EU AI Act is in force, GDPR enforcement around AI data practices is tightening, and banking, healthcare, and public sector regulators are each building their own oversight frameworks.
What's less visible, but equally important, is that 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟲𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 - meaning the people who will be held accountable for AI governance decisions often don't yet have the grounding to make them with confidence.

73% of AI pilots never reach production.
Not because the technology failed, but 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘁.
No defined use case with a clear owner. No governance framework. No leadership alignment on what 'success' meant. No plan for what happens when the pilot ends.
Avaelgo has delivered AI solutions in production across financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector, and has found that 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲: technology decisions made before strategic decisions.

We work with Microsoft-stack organizations and with teams that haven't committed to a platform yet. The strategic questions are the same either way.

Here's a pattern that stalls AI adoption in almost every organization we work with.
👉 The CEO sees AI as a competitive positioning play.
👉 The CFO sees it as an unproven cost center.
👉 The CIO sees it as a governance and security problem.
👉 The COO sees it as a change management headache.
𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. None of them is talking about the same thing.
When leadership teams don't share 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗜 - what it is, what it's for, what the risks are, and what the organization actually wants from it - every initiative becomes a negotiation between departments instead of a coordinated move.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺. It's an alignment problem.
