Because I attended a conference in Sibiu (Romania), I had the chance to visit the exhibition. It's a translocated museum, meaning that old buildings were dismantled all over Romania and reassembled in the museum. 400 buildings.
Here are some decorated posts from them.

I bought these 59 HRC knife blades and handled them. One with antler, the other with birch wood. They both have a a small bone disc at the end with an ornament.
Both sheaths have a wooden inlay.

I'm currently not really in the mood for social media. I enjoy making stuff and I'll post again soon, but not right now.

Birch cup with chip carving. I used traditional motifs and voila, this cup happened.

After finishing it, I noticed the similarities to cups. I didn't have his work in mind when I made it, but maybe it dwelled in my subconscious and influenced me?
Anyway, check his great work (which is far mor sophisticated than mine anyway)!

Viking knife.
The blade is made by Johannes Schmiedel.
The handle is plum wood with handcarved ornaments after a find from Haithabu.
