Născut la Tokyo în 1971, Tokuhiro Kawai este unul dintre cei mai renumiți artiști ai curentului suprarealist asiatic contemporan. A obținut o licență în 1995 și un master în 1997, ambele la Universitatea Națională de Arte Frumoase și Muzică din Tokyo. Inspirate de teme precum magie și fantezie, lucrările sale par să ignore gravitația și perspectiva, stimulând imaginația privitorilor prin figuri luminoase și plutitoare.
