Welcome to the page of the band Alternative Entity! We want to really shake things up a bit. Follow our journey closely ๐ค๐ป
We're just getting started and in an attempt to grow ourselves as a band, we started making Youtube covers. We DO NOT aim to sound exactly like the artist we cover! We DO NOT try to take the always more easier way of "my own version of the song"! We try and do things as close as possible to the original. Because our vocalist G likes to challenge herself and constantly improve her voice, technique and adaptability/versatility. In the meantime Beck (our guitarist/vocalist) is quietly working on our own material in his studio! We're still searching for members by the way. Female Vocalist Tries Singing Like Mike Patton
Since Mike Patton is a gold standard, ney, a Mt. Athos for vocalists, I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring and try. I obviously thought a lot about how to approach this. But then it hit me: "How would Mike do it?"
EASY. ROLL CREDITS WE'RE DONE EVERYONE ABSOLUTE CINEMA

Fun fact: according to producer Matt Wallace, Mike reportedly recorded several takes, each time singing like a different character, then they comp'ed the parts AND then he went back in to sing it again - to add cohesion if I had to guess. That insane man! ๐ฎ
So we did something very similar and it was fun!
In the end.. it's not just about "fooling around" ๐ฅ

Finally ready to share the full version with you all. I had my engineer hubby jump in and help with the choir parts alongside myself, just to add some spice it up ๐
The next one is gonna be a dreamy banger, any guesses? ๐
Did you know that Adele belted this part while pregnant and after a vocal surgery? ๐ฑ She's a GOAT! So yeah it really important to nail that intensity without straight up yelling because there's also a sort of finesse to this ๐

So let's not be afraid of being creative. Acceptance of one's self is key. Let's just make the most of what we got!
Let them all say we're losers, weirdos, too this, too that, whatever. Let them mock our efforts. But we are the ones that will keep building, until one day, it pays off. All of it. As a famous audio engineer once said to me personally ๐ฅ

Portraying a Bond Girl is fun ๐
I kind of got inspired by Eva Green's look from Casino Royale when doing this particular project. And of course by Adele's stage makeup ๐
Honestly one of my personal fave looks so far ๐ค
First Light, the new Bond game is coming in a week and I'm excited! How about you?
A Bond Girl-Esque Cover Of Adele's Skyfall
When I think Bond, I think: adventure, sass, suspense and of course, tasty drama all over ๐
Also larger than life characters with cheesy dialogue but great story arcs.
So naturally a song like Skyfall is an amazing choice for that! It's definitely in my top three picks for the best Bond OST.
Aaand what can I say about Adele? She's simply exceptional ๐ฅ
I tried to get into her shoes while also adding a personal twist with his cover.
