SSCR Oradea is extremely pleased to announce the first edition of “Basic Surgical Skills” workshop, which is to be organized for the English Module students. The event will take place between 5th and 6th of May.
Subjects:
1. Vascular anastomosis
2. Intestinal anastomosis
3. Robotic surgery
4. General principles of laparoscopy
5. Laparotomy and laparorrhaphy
6. Paracentesis and Thoracocentesis
7. Naso-gastric Intubation
8. Urinary Catheterization
9. Re**al and Vaginal examination
Edition fee : 130 RON for members of SSCR and 160 RON for non-members
!!! Please take notice that you should pay the fee only after you will have received an acceptance email.
IMPORTANT: You can only apply for this workshop, if you attended “Knots and Sutures” module !!!
Students can APPLY until Wednesday, 2nd of May, 06:00 p.m.

Special Speaker @ the MEDICS 2018 Opening Ceremony!
Can we treat biological ageing ? Aubrey de Grey thinks we can.
People are living longer than they used to - no longer because of reductions in child mortality, but because we are postponing the ill-health of old age. But you’ve seen nothing yet: regenerative medicine and other new biomedical technologies will eventually be so comprehensive that people will stay truly youthful however long they live - which means they may mostly live very long indeed.
For the Opening Ceremony, Aubrey de Grey will discuss both the biology and the sociology of what he considers to be the most momentous advance in the history of civilisation. He will present his possibly comprehensive plan to repair the accumulating molecular and cellular side-effects of metabolism - in other words, to combat the aging process. A new liver is a lifetime gift
Liver transplantation can be the only solution for kids with end stage organ failure. With the advance of immunosuppression and surgical approaches, this complex procedure can be safely performed in children - with pediatric patients accounting annually for about 12.5% of liver transplant recipients in the US. But for the best outcome, strict procedures must be followed.
Dr Marvin E. Ament, one of the recognized founders of the pediatric gastroenterology subspecialty in the US, will discuss indications and contraindications in infants and children for orthotopic liver transplantation, as well as complications of the procedure, and the long-term outcomes, including survival and quality of life following OLT.
Dr Ament is a Professor Emeritus at David Geffen School of Medicine UCLA, Los Angeles, USA, where he established the liver transplantation program. He developed many of the tools and therapies now accepted as standard practice in pediatric gastroenterology.

,,Ana și Mia m-au ucis’’’or in English, ,,Ana and Mia killed me’’
It's the first national campaign that fights against anorexia and bulimia, and raises awareness to this issue.
The campaign is organized by A.S.M.O. - Asociatia Studentilor Medicinisti din Oradea coordinated by Sabina Șolea during the 24th-28th of April.
International students are also invited to take part in this campaign and show support by coming to the free entry presentations about the dangers of anorexia and bulimia ,

Ana si Mia "ANA ȘI MIA" este primul proiect ASMO despre anorexie și bulimie cu scopul de a educa oamenii despre aceste boli care , netratate, pot avea sfarsit tragic.
"Donate Blood, be a hero!" is a project that aims to help the hospitals to pass the blood shortage through a blood donation campaign . This campaign is also taking place in the other cities like: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Brașov, Timișoara, Sibiu, Craiova and Târgu-Mureș
The comunity of student associations that are part of USO - Students Union of Oradea are partners in this project are glad to invite you to donate blood during 5-9 December at Centrul de Transfuzie Sanguină Oradea
