”Another one bites the dust... ”, while Queen might have had a different meaning in mind, in this case it could be regarded as conquering the journey of a doctorate.

Please join us in sending a massive congratulations to Burghelea George-Bogdan for successfully defending his PhD thesis.
His work focused on air pollution in Romania, considering a data set from 2020. Even now we can remember about that unbelievably complicated and challenging year for the entire planet. Navigating global uncertainty, lockdowns, and unprecedented stress while conducting rigorous scientific research takes immense resilience, grit, and dedication.

We are incredibly proud of your hard work and perseverance. 🥰

☀️ Be it a weekend or a weekday, our colleagues never rest when it comes to enriching the minds of young students! 🧠✨
On this sunny Sunday, 16 students from Politehnica București 🏛️, taught by our own Melania, came to visit us at IFIN-HH. They were shown the incredible research Melania and Alexandru do at DFNA (Department of Applied Nuclear Physics)! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🔬
The main celebrities of this visit were, as usual, the 1MV and 3MV particle accelerators ⚛️⚡, where half of the department's research is done.
From isotope analysis 🧪 to cancer research 🧬 to material science ⚙️, the students got to know exactly how vast the field of Applied Nuclear Physics really is! 🌟👏

Spring has come and, as nature sprouts and flowers bloom 🌸, we strive to seed knowledge and understanding in the young minds who will blossom into the next generation of researchers.

From Brașov to Bucharest, students from all over southern Romania came to see our tandem accelerators in action (and much more) as part of the "Școala Altfel ReCoNnect" - a Noaptea Cercetătorilor Researchers Night project💡⚛️

Three lucky students got further VIP treatment this past week, being able to shadow us in the labs and catch a glimpse of the everyday life of our hard-working personnel. ✨🔬

We are grateful for all the 383 students and 26 teachers who came to visit us and hope to see many more of them 🙏

We have learned a tone during the last couple of days.
