📢 The next round of TELUS Digital Romania Community Board grants is officially open! 💚

The TELUS Digital Romania Community Board is now accepting applications for projects that address real community needs and have the potential to create meaningful, measurable impact. Are you an NGO working to make a lasting difference? We are looking for projects that align with our core pillars and drive real change:

🎓 Focused on education, health, or environmental resilience? We’re listening.
🧒 Children, young people, and their families at the heart of it? Keep going.
📊 Impact you can actually measure? Now you have our attention.
🏘️ A real change for the community you serve? That’s exactly what we’re here to fund.

Whether you’re creating a new opportunity, strengthening an existing one or bringing people together around a shared need, we want to hear about projects that are ready to move forward.

This year’s Heroes Day brought leaders and team members from different teams together across Bulgaria, Romania, Ireland, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Poland, and Germany for real conversations, shared experiences, and meaningful connections.

With the theme “Real heroes, real stories,” we created space to listen, learn, and experience the perspective through the eyes of the people who make a difference every day.

Small changes can make a big difference. This month, challenge yourself to reduce single-use plastics and inspire others to do the same. Every reusable choice adds up.

Here are a few simple ways to get started:

♻️ Bring a reusable water bottle and coffee cup.
🛍️ Keep a reusable shopping bag with you.
🥗 Choose reusable food containers instead of disposable packaging.
🥤 Skip plastic straws and cutlery when dining out.
🧴 Refill household and personal care products whenever possible.
🍎 Buy loose fruits and vegetables instead of pre-packaged options.
💡 Repair, reuse, and repurpose before replacing items.

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Community Impact!

This year marks a special milestone for the TELUS Digital Romania Community Board: 10 years of supporting meaningful initiatives that create positive change in communities across Romania.

We are grateful for the incredible interest shown in this year’s grant program, with an impressive 224 project proposals submitted by NGOs dedicated to making a difference.

After a thorough evaluation process, we are proud to announce the 8 projects selected for funding:

We look forward to seeing these inspiring projects come to life and create lasting impact in the communities they serve.

Our Beekind program just took flight across two more countries, and the buzz is absolutely real! 🐝✨

In Romania, 13 colleagues suited up to visit the apiary Livada cu Amintiri where the best classrooms don't have walls, they have hives. 🐝

From deep-diving into bee genetics with beekeeper George Mitrea to tasting unripe apples in a rose-scented orchard, every moment felt like childhood memories coming alive. The real magic? Tasting acacia honey straight from the comb, warm and golden, with the bees still humming around us.

Meanwhile, in Ireland, 10 colleagues got their hands wonderfully sticky at The Canteen's Beeswax Wraps Workshop, a creative afternoon where they crafted their own reusable, planet-friendly food wraps using locally sourced beeswax from our partners at An Beach Dubh.

From learning the sticky science behind the wraps to troubleshooting wax that dried faster than expected (wax happens!), the team tackled every challenge with enthusiasm, walking away with practical alternatives to single-use plastic they'll use again and again.

This is what Beekind is all about: celebrating bees, protecting our planet, and building community one sweet moment at a time. 🍯🌍
