🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Community Impact!

This year marks a special milestone for the TELUS Digital Romania Community Board: 10 years of supporting meaningful initiatives that create positive change in communities across Romania.

We are grateful for the incredible interest shown in this year’s grant program, with an impressive 224 project proposals submitted by NGOs dedicated to making a difference.

After a thorough evaluation process, we are proud to announce the 8 projects selected for funding:

Our Beekind program just took flight across two more countries, and the buzz is absolutely real! 🐝✨

In Romania, 13 colleagues suited up to visit the apiary Livada cu Amintiri where the best classrooms don't have walls, they have hives. 🐝

From deep-diving into bee genetics with beekeeper George Mitrea to tasting unripe apples in a rose-scented orchard, every moment felt like childhood memories coming alive. The real magic? Tasting acacia honey straight from the comb, warm and golden, with the bees still humming around us.

Meanwhile, in Ireland, 10 colleagues got their hands wonderfully sticky at The Canteen's Beeswax Wraps Workshop, a creative afternoon where they crafted their own reusable, planet-friendly food wraps using locally sourced beeswax from our partners at An Beach Dubh.

From learning the sticky science behind the wraps to troubleshooting wax that dried faster than expected (wax happens!), the team tackled every challenge with enthusiasm, walking away with practical alternatives to single-use plastic they'll use again and again.

This is what Beekind is all about: celebrating bees, protecting our planet, and building community one sweet moment at a time. 🍯🌍

🌸 ~100 colleagues joined our Pollinator Protectors Masterclass
🌱 Volunteers planted bee-friendly gardens in Romania
🐝 Beehive visits in Bulgaria and Ireland brought our team face-to-face with hive life
💛 ~70 volunteers in Bosnia planted flowers for local pollinators
🪴 Mini bee-friendly plants found new homes across Essen, Germany

Small actions. Big impact. And a whole lot of heart.

🐝💚 BEEKind in Action: Growing Biodiversity Through Community

As part of the global TELUS Days of Giving movement, colleagues across Europe are turning purpose into action through our BEEKind programme - supporting biodiversity, protecting pollinators, and creating meaningful community impact.

In Bucharest, volunteers joined WWF Romania and Club Clorofila to help transform the green space surrounding the National Museum of Maps and Old Books into a pollinator-friendly sanctuary for bees, butterflies, and other essential species. Together, they planted perennial flowers and helped create an urban oasis designed to support biodiversity in the heart of the city.

Meanwhile in Ireland, colleagues joined a unique behind-the-hive experience led by fourth-generation beekeeper Séadna Mac Giolla Coda. From learning about the intricate social world of bees to observing thriving hives up close, and even tasting locally produced honey supporting the Irish Bee Conservation Project, the experience offered a powerful reminder of how connected we are to the natural world.

We’re proud to continue building a culture where sustainability isn’t just a strategy - it’s something we actively practice together.

As part of our : Plant the Seeds of Kindness programme, we hosted our very first Pollinator Protectors Masterclass - an inspiring virtual session filled with expert insights, practical ideas, and conversations that reminded us how powerful small actions can be.

From learning about the challenges pollinators face to discovering simple ways we can support biodiversity in our everyday lives, one message stood out clearly: every action counts.

From planting pollinator-friendly flowers to getting hands-on at hive workshops, our teams have been bee-coming true allies of biodiversity. Every seed planted, every hive supported, every curious mind inspired… it all adds up.

But guess what?
We’re just getting warmed up.

Something new is about to bloom, and thanks to our incredible team members, it’s going to be even bigger, bolder, and buzzier. Stay tuned…
