Aplicația Radar.mttech.io oferă deja o vizualizare avansată a fenomenelor, bazată pe date publicate de Administrația Națională de Meteorologie, sub licență OpenData. Iar posibilitatea de a transforma aceste date în modele 3D dinamice ar putea duce analiza meteo la un alt nivel — mai clară, mai vizuală și mai ușor de înțeles pentru toată comunitatea.

🌀 Storm Bram struck the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and Ireland 🇮🇪 with strong winds and torrential rain, resulting in train, flight, and ferry cancellations, as well as power outages on 9 December 2025.

🌧️ On 10 December, flood warnings were in place across the United Kingdom, and severe flooding affected areas along multiple rivers.

This from one of the Sentinel-1 satellites, acquired on 10 December 2025 at 06:31 UTC, shows the River Towy in Wales.

🔴 Inundated areas are shown in red, indicating a continuous 30-kilometre stretch of floodwater extending across the valley.

Open data from the Sentinel satellites provides reliable support for monitoring flooding events, helping to inform local response and recovery operations.

🚀 Copernicus Sentinel-6B was successfully launched earlier this morning at 06:21 CET from Vandenberg Base in California.

🛰 The satellite sent its first signal down to Earth at 07:54, confirming that it is healthy. This radar altimetry satellite, developed through a partnership between the European Commission, the ESA - European Space Agency, the EUMETSAT, and the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, with contributions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the French Space Agency - CNES, represents an important step in ensuring the continuity of Copernicus Services and strengthening the European Union’s strategic autonomy in the space domain.

Sentinel-6 is the global reference mission for measuring sea-surface height, providing key data on sea-level height, wave height, and wind speed. These measurements support operational meteorological and oceanographic forecasting, climate monitoring, and the management of inland water resources.

Copernicus Sentinel-6B joins its twin satellite, Copernicus Sentinel-6A Michael Freilich, launched in November 2020, to ensure the continued delivery of highly precise altimetric measurements.

During its first operational year, the two satellites will fly in a “tandem” configuration, following the same orbit less than one minute apart and observing the same oceanic regions almost simultaneously.

A new high resolution digital dataset and map — named Itiner-e — of roads throughout the Roman Empire around the year 150 CE is presented in research published in Scientific Data. The findings increase the known length of the Empire’s road system by over 100,000 kilometres.

➡️ În octombrie 2024 lacul prezenta un nivel mai ridicat al apei, în condiţii normale de funcţionare.
➡️ Pentru octombrie 2025, se observă scăderea nivelului – nu doar din cauza secetei, ci şi pentru că s-a efectuat o golire parţială şi controlată în vederea remedierii unor probleme tehnice la baraj.
