Well respected in their craft and with a substantial history of minimal and tech house, playing at festivals like Sunwaves or Mioritmic, as well as legendary Club Midi in Cluj Napoca, where Paul K was a resident (once voted no. 25 in the esteemed DJ Mag Top 100 clubs), the pair endeavor on this experimental trip that left us wanting more!

Back on home turf, Crihan returns on his mezin imprint with a special holiday release. Spune was made just about 10 years ago on a cold and lonely Christmas morning, filled with hope and forward looking energy. Your Voice follows up, with it’s laidback broken groove, dreamy Rhodes, evocative vocal sample and forward driving bass line - it’s a dream for your feet to jump to and your mind to wander off on.

We welcome young blood to the team with his Dedication To B single. Johnny is a fresh perspective in the UK house and minimal scene however dont be fooled, his pedigree already secured him a record on one of Gene On Earths labels, among others. Youve Been Wooed spearheads his mezin debut with an infections straight forward groove that we simply could not resist, backed up on the flip by the murky and moody Brown Eyed Boy. Weve been wooed alright, thats all we can say.

After a short break mezin is back with the 4th record, helmed by Crihan. An Ordinary Family is a special affair, put together over a long period with a special narrative in mind, embodied by 4 pieces representing each of the main characters in F.M. Dostoevski’s magnum opus (or so we think!) The Brothers Karamazov.

In this exercise of imagination, Alin attempts to push his creative juices to new heights to represent his perception of the novel’s titular actors. From religious themes, distant church bells and organs, yet, a lighthearted Aliosha to the dark reveries and otherworldly echoes of Ivan through to the sheer power and brute force of Dmitri and finally intersecting with sly, slinky but confident Grushenka. An Ordinary Family sets off on an ambitious trip that, we hope, will spark some curiosity for the novel, but we’ll be happy if you keep on dancing, too!
