Live act bringing forth a modern approach to dance music.
Melodie is a producer and live act from Romania and a key figure on the international Techno / Minimal / Electro scene. Early in his career, Resident Advisor published an exclusive editorial about him, stating that “he’s released two records of a quality far beyond most emerging producers, stripped down and full of personality”; his tracks were also featured in their yearly TOP 50 Tracks charts. H

When I bought this mixer I had never owned before and analog mixing board. 3 days after it arrived I completely teared it apart to deep clean it. I have these videos on my computer for a while now. The restoration footage is from 2020. Intro and Final are from 2023.
This mixing desk is at the roots of my curent live act.

This might sound odd but I dedicate (inspired by) this song "Sunday Service", to Saint Joseph's Catholic Cathedral in Bucharest. Every Sunday at the morning church service they play an amazing organ accompanied by a choir made of 6-7 persons, male and female voices, all professional singers.
This song will be on my new album "Additive Memory"

"Trinity" will be on my new album "Additive Memory"
I posted this as slides to try to showcase how this track developes. This "video mix" of "Trinity" has almost 9 minutes in total and you can watch it on my Youtube page, link in bio!
It starts with a soft intro which builds pretty quickly into an intese, experimental and metallic industrial atmosphere, simillar to somekind of big machinery. The end brings us back to tranquility, back to softer sounds.
The "original mix" I made for the album version has a more direct approach and a total time of 7 minutes.
The vibe is the same, different arrangement.

Back in November when I played live at .ton.bucharest I went up to 138BPM 🤣.

Made this track with more than a year ago.
We started this track at 122BPM and we recorded some vocals for it.
I usually finish a track the same day I start it, but when I don't, it can be 2 days or 2 years until its done. Thing is I don't think of it, I really don't care about how much time has passed, if I don't feel like doing it I won't.
After a few months I got back to it but now my mood was different and I wanted to take it to 135BPM 😁
Now when you do this most of the sounds will go up in pitch, for this tempo change it was just a bit over one semitone, or a whole tone, don't remember.
Now the key changes and you can add new sounds in the new key.
The vocals though, they sounded too high and thin so I was left to use only what I used here.
First live with this tiny keyboard and the Roland synthesizer🤣
Pretty good combo with this Roland, has that old school synth sound I think it fits better than the Wavestate to play live with.
The Wavestate has bigger keys though and is easier to play with, but me and the tiny keyboard will work things out and everything will be fine.
This is my traveling live setup now. 🧳🌎
