π£ NEW benchmark results: find out which was the *most accurate* web application scanner against Broken Crystals & DVWA - and which had the *most FPs*!
π Get the white paper with full results & methodology. π Link in the comments (NOT email-gated).
π₯ Find out how the 7 most popular network scanners perform in a benchmark (you can validate yourself)! π Here's the TL;DR:
WHAT did you do? π We tested:
βοΈ Nessus Professional
βοΈ Nmap vulnerability scripts
βοΈ Nuclei
βοΈ OpenVAS
βοΈ Pentest-Tools.com Network Vulnerability Scanner
βοΈ Qualys
βοΈ Rapid7 Nexpose
WHY did you do it?
Because:
β³ comparing security tools can be a time-suck
π we wanted a benchmark whose results anyone can validate (independently)
HOW did you do it?
π₯ we focused on remote detection to mimic real-world attack scenarios
π¨ and used Vultr-hosted environments with 167 different vulnerabilities
π― to test each scanner's detection availability and accuracy.
WHERE can I see the results?
π Download the white paper from the comments below!
PS: We'd love to hear what you think about this benchmark and how we can make it even better. Drop your thoughts and feedback below!

π€© One more week until we get to spend the day with 2000+ folks at DefCamp 13! Besides awesome swag, we're also unpacking real-life hacks to see what they can teach us. β¬οΈ
On Day 1, Track 1, at 11:45 AM, our Founder & CEO, Adrian Furtuna, will dive into the technical details of how a Romanian government server got compromised, resulting in 38GB of sensitive data getting leaked on the Internet.
Adrian will unpack the exploit used during the attack, guide you through the timeline of events, and draw a couple of conclusions on how this could have been avoided.
See you there!
We *think* we know how to explain the value of a pentest, but Alethe Denis is here to serve a reality check. As the first guest of our β¨brand new podcast β¨, she delivers battle-tested insights that bring ethical hackers from their neon-lit setups to boardrooms, where most of the action happens.
Sounds counterintuitive, doesn't it? That's *exactly* what we're hunting for.
And we're really excited to have you with us!
Check out the links in the comments for the full video, plus links to podcasting platforms, and our blog - where we've extracted all the good stuff you can get from this conversation.
DefCamp is our hacker Xmas, so we're excited to see you all on Nov 23-24!
(Yes, we're bringing fresh swag! π. Sneak peek in this video.)
