For three days, Corinthia Bucharest and Sass’ Restaurant & Lounge found a new setting at Singureni Manor.

The Singureni Manor Polo Cup brought together the energy of the game, a beautiful setting and, above all, a wonderful group of people.

If you want to understand what makes Romanian architecture distinctive, Mogoșoaia Palace tells the story beautifully.

Completed in 1702 by Constantin Brâncoveanu for his son Ștefan, the palace is one of the finest examples of Brâncovenesc architecture - a style so closely tied to Romania that learning to recognise it is like learning a little of the country's visual language. It brings together local traditions with Eastern and Western influences, visible in the palace's arches, carved stone details and open loggias.

But don't come expecting a quick museum visit. Mogoșoaia is an entire historic estate. Walk beyond the palace and you'll find a church that actually predates it, historic buildings, gardens and a park stretching towards the lake.

The story didn't end with Brâncoveanu. Centuries later, Princess Martha Bibescu helped give Mogoșoaia a second life. A writer and cosmopolitan aristocrat connected to Europe's cultural and political circles, she turned the estate into a meeting place for the world she was part of.

Give Mogoșoaia more than a quick stop. There are three centuries of stories waiting beyond its gates.
