This time: 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐕𝐒 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱 — two classic distalization appliances with different clinical applications.

🔹 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
Designed for efficient molar distalization using:
• a large acrylic button for palatal anchorage
• TMA springs that deliver light, continuous force to the upper molars
• occlusal rests for additional stability and control

A modified Pendulum appliance that incorporates an expansion screw within the acrylic button.

✔️ Useful in patients presenting transverse maxillary deficiency

👉🏻The Kois Deprogrammer is a removable dental appliance designed to relax the jaw muscles and help identify a patient’s most stable bite position by preventing posterior tooth contact.

With its precise anterior bite platform and stable palatal design, it supports accurate occlusal analysis, centric relation records, and restorative planning.

Simple design, precise function.

Two different mechanisms. One shared goal: efficient molar distalization. ✨

🔹The Veltri appliance achieves distalization through the activation of a sagittal screw, generating controlled distal movement of the molars with a rigid mechanical system. Its design allows precise activation and excellent biomechanical control during treatment.

🔸The Distal Jet works through compressed coil springs that deliver continuous force closer to the molars’ center of resistance, helping achieve distal movement with improved control and reduced tipping.

Although their mechanics are different — screw activation vs spring-driven force — both appliances are designed for the same objective:
✔️ predictable molar distalization
✔️ non-compliance treatment
✔️ efficient Class II correction

This Bonded RPE features a custom acrylic design inspired by our patient’s request — where individuality meets functionality.

The appliance incorporates an additional single-sided acrylic pad in quadrant 2, that provides extra support and enhances force delivery, allowing for more efficient expansion in quadrant 1.

🔶 Classic Twin-Block
Indicated for Class II (overjet/overbite)
→ Stimulates mandibular advancement

🔷 Reverse Twin-Block
Indicated for Class III (underbite)
→ Helps control mandibular projection

🗝️ Key principles
• Functional appliances — use patient’s muscle forces
• Typically worn full-time (≈20–24h/day)
• Can include expansion screws for transverse correction
• Most effective during active growth (≈10–14 years)

Bonded RPEs — another approach to maxillary expansion 🔬✨

Unlike traditional banded expanders, bonded RPEs are directly bonded to the upper teeth using occlusal coverage, offering improved control and, in some cases, more efficient expansion.

Including BENEfit appliances (mixed dental & skeletal anchorage), starting with a cleft palate surgical case, followed by standard expansion cases for crowding and other orthodontic issues.

Bonded designs can extend over 2–4 posterior teeth and be customized with different colors, stickers, and patterns.
