A specialist in Brâncuși’s work, Doina Lemny speaks about Head of a Woman, a work by Constantin Brâncuși included in The Shape of a Legacy: Post-War & Contemporary Auction + A Special Fundraising Section for Salonul de proiecte.
In the anniversary year Brâncuși 150, this drawing opens a perspective onto the way the artist observed and retained form. Brâncuși created the bust of Margit Pogány after she had left his studio, without asking her to pose in the conventional sense. Instead, he encouraged her to move through the space, observing her attitude, her movement, and the natural way her body settled.
The drawing captures the slightly tilted head, the chignon, and the presence of the hand in a rarely encountered formula, all the more significant as graphic representations of Mademoiselle Pogany are known in only a few examples.
The auction will take place online on 11 June 2026, at ansazura.com. The exhibition can be visited at Ans Azura Gallery, 21 Speranței, Bucharest.

Geometry, tradition, and spiritual construction.
Mihai Olos built a personal visual universe rooted in the folk architecture of Maramureș and in Eastern European spirituality. His geometric module became a complete visual system, explored through sculpture, drawing, installation, and architectural thinking.
His work stands at the intersection of tradition and avant-garde, local memory and universal form.

Resistance, survival, and visual force.

Her works are rare on the art market and stand as essential documents of Romanian cultural memory.

Paul Neagu, a landmark presence of Romanian art in the world.
Paul Neagu built, between Bucharest and London, one of the most coherent and original bodies of work in European art of the second half of the twentieth century. His sculptures, installations and performances depart from the body, understood not as representation, but as a system of perception, relation and knowledge.
Present in important international collections and in the curriculum of generations of British artists, he taught for many years at Glasgow School of Art. His work in The Shape of a Legacy represents an exceptional opportunity for collectors.
