Together with Radio France and Jazz in Marciac, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the Euroradio Jazz Competition 2026 Final, scheduled to take place at the Jazz in Marciac Festival today.

The decision follows the exceptional wildfire situation in south-west France and the resulting disruption to roads, flights and access to Bordeaux Airport. Several participating musicians and producers are no longer able to reach Marciac, meaning that the four finalist ensembles cannot perform with their full line-ups.

The Euroradio Jazz Competition promotes outstanding young jazz musicians and ensembles selected by EBU Member broadcasters, giving them the opportunity to perform at an international festival and reach audiences through public service media across Europe.

We know how much work the four finalist ensembles have put into reaching this stage and share their profound disappointment. Our thoughts are also with everyone affected by the wildfires and with the emergency services responding to the situation.

We would like to thank Radio France and France Musique, which were due to host the final, as well as the Jazz in Marciac Festival organizers, the participating broadcasters, musicians, producers, jury members and partners for their support and understanding.

In consultation with Radio France/France Musique and Jazz in Marciac, we are exploring whether the competition final can be held at a later date. Further information will be shared when available.

The remainder of the Jazz in Marciac Festival is continuing as planned.
