In recent months, our team has grown significantly. So have our projects, responsibilities and the pace at which we make decisions and deliver results.

Growth brings opportunities, but also a challenge: as teams become larger and responsibilities more defined, it becomes easier to know one another by role rather than as people.

Our time together in Greece gave us the opportunity to change that. For a few days, we left functions and deadlines in the background, shared ideas and different perspectives, and got to know the people behind the roles.

Because expertise, processes and responsibilities build an organization. Trust, respect and character turn it into a team.

This photo tells the story of Alive Capital better than many numbers could.

In response to the current pressure on the Romanian power system, Alive Capital has asked its clients and partners to voluntarily reduce electricity consumption between 19:00 and 23:00, where operationally possible, until 31 August 2026.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱.

Some of our clients have reviewed their consumption patterns and introduced practical measures adapted to their operations.

Every company is different. Not every activity can or should be shifted. But when many consumers make small adjustments at the same time, the combined effect can help reduce pressure on the power system during the evening peak.

This is not about disrupting operations, compromising safety or affecting critical processes. It is about understanding how and when we use electricity and asking a simple question:

The current situation makes this particularly relevant. But smarter energy use should not be limited to periods when the power system is under pressure.

This role means real-time operational control of renewable energy power plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Alive Capital's portfolio.

What the job actually looks like:
• Monitoring production and technical parameters via SCADA, around the clock.
• Coordinating with the national transmission and distribution operators, per grid code requirements.
• Analyzing alarms, managing incidents, and tracking production schedules.
• Driving energy optimization and commercial performance across a sizeable renewable energy portfolio.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: A degree in power or electrical engineering, 3+ years operating power plants or in dispatch, solid knowledge of grid codes and SCADA, and availability for shift work.

Our colleague Virgil Popescu proudly received the award on behalf of Alive Capital.

This recognition belongs to our entire team and to our partners. It reflects the work behind every forecast, dispatch decision, power plant, grid connection and energy contract.

As renewable capacity continues to expand across the region, the focus is increasingly shifting toward the capabilities needed to support this growth. Forecasting, aggregation solutions, portfolio management, storage, flexibility and energy optimization are becoming essential for building a more coordinated, efficient and resilient energy system.

Our presence at reflects Alive Capital’s continued regional direction, with operations in Romania and Serbia and planned expansion into Slovakia and Italy in 2026, followed by Bulgaria, Moldova and Greece in 2027.

With around 1.5 GW under management and optimization across more than 200 renewable power plants, including solar, wind and battery storage, Alive Capital continues to build integrated solutions for a market that is becoming more dynamic, more complex and more dependent on real-time expertise.

At Energy Strategy Summit 2026, organized by Energynomics , Alive Capital Founder & CEO Giacomo Billi joined industry leaders in discussing how Southeast Europe can strengthen its role in the region's energy future.

One conclusion stood out: adding new renewable capacity is only part of the equation. The next stage requires stronger cross-border interconnections, large-scale energy storage, digitalization and market integration capable of transforming variable generation into reliable, dispatchable energy.

Romania has already demonstrated its ability to attract investment and accelerate renewable deployment. The challenge ahead is turning this growth into long-term system resilience.

Storage, flexibility services and regional cooperation will play a central role in achieving that objective.

Across Southeast and Central Europe, energy security is becoming increasingly linked to the ability to balance, optimize and connect energy systems beyond national borders.

At Alive Capital, these developments are already shaping investment decisions, technology partnerships and the next generation of energy infrastructure projects.

Many discussions at the Summit focused on where the region should go next. The more important question may be: how quickly can the industry execute?

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗪 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆.
𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲.

PVPP Stâlpu 1 and PVPP Stâlpu 2 have entered the energization and testing phase, marking an important step for hybrid renewable infrastructure in Romania.

Both projects combine photovoltaic generation with battery energy storage systems, showing where the energy sector is heading: more flexibility, better integration and stronger grid-ready infrastructure.

Special recognition to everyone involved in bringing these projects to this stage, from the technical and project management teams to the developers, contractors, suppliers, operators, institutions and on-site teams whose work made this milestone possible.

Regional electricity markets are entering a period of accelerated transformation, where flexibility, coordination and regulatory alignment are becoming just as important as generation capacity itself.

This was one of the key takeaways from the 𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗫 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 “𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 & 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻”, attended in Belgrade by our collegues, Raluca David and Pavle Radojević.

The discussions brought together some of the most relevant topics currently shaping the energy sector - from market coupling and CBAM developments to collateral frameworks, exchange evolution and the increasing importance of cross-border market coordination.

As renewable pe*******on continues to grow across the region, the focus is shifting beyond capacity expansion toward the ability of markets to adapt, synchronize and maintain stability in a far more dynamic environment.

Workshops like ADEX remain valuable not only for the insights shared, but also for the practical dialogue between market participants navigating the same transition from different perspectives and markets.
