MATCH DAY

TFB 2010-2013 INTER SQUAD

Back in match action for this mixed age group. It was good to see the competitive edge within the groups again. It has been very promising to see the adaptation between the groups and the relationships that are developing well on and off the field.

The first half was at a high standard, showing good energy to win the ball back and moving the ball quickly to create chances to score. It was a really close, competitive game and it was a joy to watch. Due to the heat and lack of subs, we made sure that regular water breaks were included in the game.

In the second half, the heat and lack of subs started to show; the energy levels dropped, and the quality in play decreased. There were still moments of quality during the game and in the final third both teams moved the ball well, forcing the keepers into action, and they both stepped up to the task.

In general, it was good to get minutes into the legs of the players. Some good performances on show but work still to be done to reach their full potential.

MATCH DAY 24/05/2026

TFB 2017/2018 v FC Liverpool
The game was played at a high intensity from both teams from the first minute to the last. We played a physical team who didn’t allow us any time on the ball and, in the early stages, it worked in their favour. We adapted well and matched them with the physicality and started to take control within the game. Iacob was very strong up front and was causing problems for their defenders and managed to get himself 3 goals, which was impressive.

Mateo made his debut in goal for the club and pulled off some fantastic saves and will be a valuable addition to this group. Noah came off the bench and matched the intensity of the game straight away and worked really hard with and without the ball. Matty D played as a defender and put in some great challenges and made a key block late in the game.

Stefan was a warrior all game, getting stuck in to win the ball back and his energy levels didn’t drop throughout the game. Mihai worked well to win the ball back and almost unlocked the defence with his dribbling ability. Achim was very calm and worked really hard with well-timed tackles in a busy game of football. Matei V showed good work rate to win the ball back and tried to play the ball forward every time he could.

It was a tough but entertaining game. This type of opposition is very beneficial for this group of players. They showed grit and determination throughout the game and it was an enjoyable match with the intensity on show.

MATCH DAY

TFB 2017/2018 V Prietenia Corbeancu

Back in action this week on a lovely sunny day. We started well, getting a lot of opportunities to regain the ball in the opposition’s half. Corbeancu defended resolutely and we had to settle for a series of corners from good buildup play during the opening 10-15 minutes. Whilst we had a good amount of possession, we struggled to get clear shots away.

As the game wore on, we started to lose our rhythm, the passing wasn’t as accurate, and our general play was slower than our usual high intensity. The opposing team started to press and we didn’t cope with it particularly well. We continued to play slow balls out from the back that were being intercepted each time. We also struggled getting back in defence after failed attacks with the players walking back or slow to react to the second ball.

Half-time came at the right time and it was time to sit, drink water, recover and take on board the instructions for the second half. We could see the disappointment on the faces of the players, so a pep talk and encouragement was needed. The second half mission: treat it as 0-0 in their minds and reapply ourselves and raise the intensity.

In the second half, we came out with a different attitude, pressing high in the opposition half. The work rate was far better and it led to us retaining possession and creating chances again. We held a higher line, increased the attacking intent and pulled back the score by two goals and looking more like the team that we have been in the last few weeks.

Overall, it wasn’t our day, but the second half performance showed signs that we can not only play well but also change our fortunes around when things are against us. With work on the training ground, we will come back stronger and start games on the front foot.

MATCH DAY 03/05/3026

TFB 2012/2013 V FC Nana Jrs

It was good to be back in action for this age group, and it has to be said, the opening 15 minutes were the best I have seen from this group of players. They played with confidence and moved the ball around brilliantly, creating good chances to score and maintaining a high line to win the ball back. On an early attack, a good dribble and shot from Rob was well saved by the opposing keeper, but Rafa was switched on and won the race to the rebound, slid in and slammed the ball home. A goal that was well deserved.

A few minutes later, an error in communication and passing at the back caused a mistake, which Nana was quick to take advantage of. All level again! After that setback, the team did well to move the ball and got plenty of shots off, testing the keeper. After some fine play by Dan, Vlad and Rafa, we were awarded a penalty. Rob took responsibility and confidently stepped up to take the spot kick. He hit the ball extremely well, but it unfortunately crashed against the upright and bounced out to safety.

As the game wore on, we struggled to challenge for the second ball, allowing Nana time to easily regain possession. Our defending became a little passive and the energy levels dropped. The physical aggression we saw at the beginning to win the ball high up the field had stopped and we were allowing them too much time on the ball. A mention for Stefan F, who found himself one-on-one with the Nana striker on numerous occasions and handled the situation superbly.

Overall, it was a good return to match action. The commitment and physicality were good, but the slip in concentration and the lack of intensity in the second half showed. There was good link-up play and the players are starting to understand the different roles. This team is on the cusp of a new level of performance. We need to continue to put the work in in training and keep developing as a team. If we can consistently reach the levels of the first 15 minutes and continue for the entire game, this team truly become a force.

Team: Alex GK, Stefan F, Eric, Ehren, Dan, Stefan M, Rafael, Robert, Vlad, Antonio, Radu, Dominic.

MATCH DAY
2015 v Sport Team

Another game and more experience for our young players. This time against a tough opponent in Sport Team. After the previous positive result everyone was heading into this game with renewed optimism and a determined attitude.

It was a midday kick-off on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The opening exchanges were fairly even and the game promised to be a competitive one at the very least. TFB had good periods of possession and moved the ball well. They were able to create a series of half chances, especially from the delivery of the keeper, Rafael, whose arm strength produced some impressive distance and accuracy. The players never quite got that clear opportunity to square their shoulders to the goal and make a clean contact with the ball. Most of the time falling to the impressive opposing goalkeepers’ feet or trickling out for a goal kick.

Slightly against the run of play, Sport Team attacked in numbers and capitalised on our inability to clear the ball from danger. It was a disappointing outcome from a positive start. As the game moved on, the pattern of play settled and TFB couldn’t quite create that clear chance. The more we attacked in numbers the more the Sport Team players countered and hit us on the break. There was plenty of positive play in the first half and definitely plenty of information for the coaches to digest and situations to work on in training.

The second half was about regrouping and showing some resilience. The players worked hard and stuck to the task. They eventually got the reward they deserved. A shot from the tireless Edu was saved by the keeper and the rebound was finished with some quality by Vlad.

It was a tough game but a valuable experience for our young team. The progression is definitely being shown by the players individually and now we need to come together as a team to be able to compete at the next level.

A special mention to our debut goalkeeper, Rafael, who is just starting on his goalkeeper journey and did a fabulous job.

Team: Rafael GK, Thomas, Iancu, Alex, Vladimir, Edu, Calin, Vlad, Sebi and Sebo.

MATCH DAY
TFB SQUAD MATCH (2010/11/12/13)

The line ups were organised into two teams of seven. With no subs on a hot day, both teams put in good levels of effort, and the start of the game was competitive and a close affair. The blue team started to take the lead with some brilliance from Rob, being very effective in front of the goal and linking up well with Dan. The orange team kept working hard and started creating good opportunities to get back in the game; they were just lacking that clinical finishing in the first half. We made sure to have water breaks in between so the players can have a breather in the conditions.

In the second half, the orange team started building momentum and getting into good attacking areas. They eventually started to take their chances. They built a good run of scoring and got the game close. With the conditions as they were, both teams were getting tired, but the lads put in a great shift and kept pushing until the end of the game.

This was a good game for making sure the teams are keeping that match fitness. It was good to see partnerships building on the pitch and some of the link-up play from both teams was brilliant to see. Normal fixtures should return soon.

MATCH DAY
TFB 2017/18 v FC Dimieni

The team played fantastically during this match. There was calm passing and playing out from the back, which allowed us to drag their players around the pitch to create gaps to attack. From the starting positions, we had Matei V in goal, then Eric, Iacob, Noah and Ioachim. They worked really well and created plenty of shots in the first half, scoring some brilliantly taken goals.

Matty, Achim and Stefan were introduced to the game, and they matched the intensity straight away. The passing brilliance continued, and it led to more opportunities during the second half. The team was also very impressive in defence and kept a clean sheet. The work rate up and down the pitch was excellent to see. We were also able to work on our passing and moving and keeping our shape in and out of possession.

The progress of these players is so satisfying to watch.  The team unit is really coming together, and we are excited for the future.

TFB 2017/2018 V FC Dimieni (Team 2)

Team: Diego, Iacob, Noah, Matei, Matty, Ioachim, Achim, Charlie

This was a game played in very tough conditions. A massive thank you to the parents for preparing their children and for their support whilst attending the game. Also, a big thank you for helping to try and push the water off the pitch; without this, the game would not have been possible.

First half:

The team looked strong from the start. They were moving the ball with confidence. It took both teams a little bit of time to get used to the wet playing surface due to the persistent amount of rainfall.

We created lots of chances and scored some deserved goals to go ahead. The players worked exceptionally well as a team, as is the case regularly at the moment. In the attack, everyone contributed and made the forward runs, but it was in defence that the team really stepped up. With a hugely increased work rate, everyone ran to get back and defend. It’s great to see these boys taking the next step, playing as a team and working hard as a unit.

Second half:

We had the worst side for conditions this half, but goalkeeper Diego didn’t let it phase him! He dived straight into a big puddle to make a fantastic save. Again, like the first half, the team moved the ball around the pitch really well and showed a lot of confidence to take players on and also keep their shape. We managed to score a few goals in the second half, getting a good result to boost the players after playing in difficult conditions.

Everyone was fantastic in the game. A really strong showing from all the boys. And massive respect and appreciation for the children and the parents for choosing to not only continue the game, but to produce an exceptional performance.

TFB 2017/2018 V FC Dimieni

Team: Diego, Achim, Stefan, Iacob, Noah, Matei, Matty, Ioachim.

We started the day in cold conditions, but the team started very strongly, moving the ball very well and creating a lot of chances. It didn’t take long before getting on the scoresheet! A beautiful strike from Achim.

After the game settled, we were a bit hesitant to win the ball back. This led to pressure and the opposition managed to build a lead going into halftime. A great free kick from Matty put the team in a good position to get back into the game.

The second half was a fantastic showing from the team. The players were moving the ball quickly and getting stuck into tackles, being physical and making blocks. When they did get a chance, Diego was not allowing any shots past him

The attacking flow of the game was really good and we created a lot of chances and scored some good goals.

The scorers were Noah, Matei, Achim, and Matty.
