Hotel Dunărea in Bucharest was built in the late 1930s in Art Deco style, across from Gara de Nord, as a 70‑room landmark for travelers. It was damaged in the 1940 and 1977 earthquakes, closed after 1977, and stood abandoned for over four decades, becoming a ruin and public hazard.
After 1990 it was returned to a private owner, but redevelopment plans failed. In 2024 authorities proposed restoring it as a cultural centre, but in 2025 expropriation was dropped, leaving its future uncertain.

The statue of San Gennaro at the Port of Naples symbolizes the saint's protection over the city and its sailors. Likely erected between the 18th and 19th centuries, it shows San Gennaro blessing the sea, safeguarding those traveling by ship. Positioned near the Molo Beverello, the statue reflects Naples' maritime traditions, where sailors would pray for safe voyages. While the exact installation date is unclear, its purpose aligns with Naples’ historic practice of placing sacred images at key city points for spiritual protection.
