Is Pakistan really dangerous?🇵🇰

I’m not saying Pakistan has zero risks. Every country has places you should be more careful in, and obviously you should do your research before going anywhere.

But the way Pakistan is portrayed in the media has people expecting something completely different.

Before coming here, I kept seeing negative stories, but once I actually arrived, that wasn’t the Pakistan I experienced.

I travelled through Lahore, Islamabad, Skardu and the north, met so many incredibly kind people, walked through busy streets, took local transport, hitchhiked, visited markets, villages and some of the most remote landscapes I’ve ever seen. I felt welcomed, curious, people wanted to talk to me, and most of my interactions were genuinely lovely.

And that’s the problem with media coverage sometimes. It can focus so heavily on the worst moments that an entire country starts being reduced to them.

Pakistan is obviously not perfect, and I’m not here to romanticize it or tell you there are no safety concerns. But there is a HUGE difference between being informed about potential risks and assuming an entire country is dangerous because of what you’ve seen in the news.

Sometimes you have to go and see a place for yourself.
