Verona Maier - Pianist

Born in Bucharest on December 31, 1961, Verona Maier began studying the piano at the age of 6, as a student of teachers Maria Spirescu, Maria Zaharescu and Angela Marbé. In 1980, she studied under Ioana Minei and Ana Pitiş at the Bucharest Conservatory, where she graduated in 1984. In 2006, she obtained the Doctor of Music degree at the National University of Music in Bucharest, and since 1990 she has been professor as well as pro-rector of the same institution since 2016.

As a musician-performer (pianist, harpsichordist, organist, percussionist) or teacher, Verona Maier gave concerts and recitals and participated in festivals, radio and TV shows, was invited as a member or president of competition juries and gave masterclasses in Romania and Germany, Switzerland, France, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Israel, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Iran, Macedonia. Her recordings are on CDs produced in Romania and Germany, and she offered more than 150 musical works to the public for premiere performances. She has also provided expert music consulting on several films directed by Șerban Marinescu, Lucian Pintilie, Mircea Veroiu, Petru Maier Bianu and since 2014, she has been a member of the Romanian Filmmakers Union.

Verona Maier capitalized on her experience as a stage partner of important Romanian and foreign musicians, carrying out a very intense activity as piano accompanist at national and international competitions, and since 2009 she has been coordinating the teams of official piano accompanists of the George Enescu International Competition – the Violin and Cello sections.

She is vice-president of the ACCUMM Foundation, established in 1999 alongside her husband, the late filmmaker and writer Petru Maier Bianu, and coordinates the Foundation’s Music Season, hosted by the Suțu Palace in Bucharest.

In 2004, the Romanian Presidency awarded Verona Maier the Medal of Cultural Merit, 1st Class.

Vom avea bucuria ca săptămâna viitoare, pe 12 mai, să putem prezenta în fața publicului o lucrare foarte rar cântată pe scenele de concert. Este vorba despre concertul în Si bemol Major pentru pian la patru mâini și orchestră de Giovanni Agostino Perotti 🎹🇮🇹 Ne vor fi alături orchestra Filarmonicii din Cernăuți, dirijată de bunul nostru prieten Marius Sireteanu! 🙏🏻🎩

Eugen Dumitrescu and Corina Răducanu have been forming a piano duo since 2005. The duo's concert activity includes participation in 32 national and international festivals, concerts with orchestras and over 500 recitals in the country (117 localities) and on prestigious stages in England (St. Martin in the Fields, NPL Music Society Scientific Museum London, Saint Matthew's Church Redhill), Austria (Vienna), Belgium (Aalst, Antwerp, Brussels), Canada (Montréal, Oakville, Oshawa, Toronto), Switzerland (Basel, Bern, Lugano, Neuchâtel), France (Lyon, Marseille, Marignane, Menton, Nice, Paris, Toulon), Germany (Frankfurt am Main, Gießen, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Offenbach, Stuttgart), Italy (Brescia, Carpenedolo, Clusane d`Iseo, Turin), the Republic of Moldova (Bălți, Chișinău) and Ukraine (Chernovti, Ciudei).

Along with the 26 concert tours - the most recent „Enescu 70” (Canada 2025) and „Enescu 70•Lipatti 75” (France 2025), the piano duo performed the first piano concerts in the history of 17 localities in Romania. In 2022, in an absolute premiere in Romania, they staged, together with musicologist Amalia Szucs-Blănaru, the work „Symphonic Poem for 100 Metronomes” by György Ligeti. In August 2025, they performed the „Bucura 7.0” concerts for three days, at Lake Bucura (2040 m) in the Retezat Mountains.

The concert activity of the piano duo is complemented by numerous national and international awards obtained at professional competitions, presences in the juries of specialized competitions, as well as master classes held as guest teachers.

Corina Răducanu and Eugen Dumitrescu are graduates of the National University of Music in Bucharest, where they completed and concluded their bachelor's, master's, doctoral and post-doctoral studies. The two pianists are the founders of the Klavier ART Association and the initiators of several cultural and educational projects in different cities and regions of the country and abroad.

Elena Turea - pianist

Born in Chisinau, pianist Elena TUREA graduated from the „Gavril Muzicescu” State Conservatory in Chisinau, in the piano class of Prof. Iurie MAHOVICI and her master's studies, in the mastery class of Prof. Olga IUHNO. She is a university lecturer, concert master and doctor at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chisinau. She carries out a rich concert activity, on the stage of the Organ Hall and the Philharmonic in Chisinau, being known and appreciated for her artistic performances within important chamber ensembles and as a concert master of renowned performers from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Ukraine and the USA.

At the international festival "New Music Days" she performs pieces for solo piano and with various instruments by composers from England, Ireland, Canada, Romania, Greece, the Republic of Moldova and other countries in absolute premiere. During this annual event, a CD was also released, and the pieces were broadcast on radio and TV in the Republic of Moldova and Romania.

Elena Turea is a guest concertmaster of the Alexei Stârcea and Maria Cibotari international competitions.

She has toured in Romania, Russia, Belgium.

Together with the flutist Ion NEGURA, she is a constant presence on stages in Romania.

Lucian Gheju - pianist

Pianist Lucian Gheju is a graduate of the "George Enescu" Music High School in Bucharest (1998) in the class of Professor Ileana Busuioc and of the "Gheorghe Dima" National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca (2004), Faculty of Interpretation, Piano specialization, class of Professor Daniel Goiţi. In 2006 he graduated with a master's degree in musical art, and in 2013 he obtained the title of doctor of music at the same institution of higher musical education, having as his supervisor Prof. Univ. Dr. Gabriel Banciu. The reference personalities of the international musical life who have influenced his professional development are Klaus Hellwig, Noel Flores, Robert Hill and Ede Terényi.

He is a laureate of the national and international interpretation competitions "Dinu Lipatti", "Jeunesses Musicales", "Lory Wallfisch", "Mihail Jora", "Pro Piano", "Mozart", "Marţian Negrea", and "Sigismund Toduţă". His soloist qualities have brought him national and international recognition through numerous appearances in piano recitals, chamber recitals and as a soloist with orchestra, performed on stages with significant musical tradition in European cultural centers such as London, Berlin, Vienna, Brussels, Liege, Lisbon, Bucharest or Cluj-Napoca.

In parallel with his pianistic activity, Lucian Gheju has collaborated as a lied partner with numerous vocal soloists, on significant stages in the country and abroad, also having a rich activity as an accompanist pianist in prestigious national and international singing competitions: "Queen Elisabeth" (Brussels, Belgium), "Julián Gayarre" (Pamplona, Spain), the Toulouse International Singing Competition (France), "George Enescu" (Bucharest), "Mozart" (Cluj-Napoca), "Eugenia Moldoveanu" (Ploieşti), "Sabin Drăgoi" (Timişoara), "Ionel Perlea" (Slobozia).

Since 2005, he has been a teacher at the "Gheorghe Dima" National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Musical Interpretation, where he taught the subjects of principal piano, singing accompaniment, and lied-oratorio accompaniment. Currently,

Lucian Gheju is professor at the "Gheorghe Dima" National Academy of Music and a piano professor at the "Sigismund Toduţă" College of Music in Cluj-Napoca.

Cristina Marton-Argerich - pianist

Cristina Marton-Argerich is a pianist of international standing whose artistic expressiveness and stylistic depth are admired worldwide. As a soloist and passionate chamber musician, she
captivates audiences on major stages with her musical intensity and versatility.
Her performances have taken her to renowned concert halls such as the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Liederhalle in Stuttgart, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Taipei National Hall, the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, the Zurich Opera House, the BAM Theater in New York and the Warsaw Philharmonic.

Cristina Marton-Argerich has performed with numerous renowned orchestras, including the Zurich Opera Orchestra, the Orquesta del Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, the Polish Chamber Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Orchestra della Radio Svizzera-Italiana under conductors such as Sandor Vegh, James Judd, Dennis Russel Davies,
Christoph Po**en and Jörg Färber.

Her artistic partnership with Martha Argerich in a piano duo has been celebrated internationally.
Together with choreographer Sasha Waltz and her dance company, she has performed in numerous shows worldwide in the successful production “Impromptus”.

Cristina Marton-Argerich is also a sought-after chamber musician with an exceptionally broad repertoire. She has performed in a wide variety of formations - from duos to larger ensembles - with internationally renowned partners on major stages in Europe, Asia and North and South America. Her chamber music expressiveness, musical sensitivity and stylistic versatility make her a valued partner at festivals, concert series and studio productions worldwide.
Since a few years she plays in the Piano Duo Cristina Marton-Argerich & Antonia Miller together with her master’s graduate Antonia Miller. They have quickly become a highly exciting, versatile, and sought-after ensemble.

She studied in Berlin with Prof. Georg Sava and received important impulses through lessons with Christian Zacharias, Leon Fleisher, Dimitry Bashkirov, Stephen Kovacevich, Gyorgy Sebok, Bruno Leonardo Gelber, Martha Argerich, Andras Schiff, Radu Lupu and Alfred Brendel.

Alongside her impressive concert career, she devotes herself with great dedication to piano pedagogy and shapes a new generation of young pianists. She teaches in Singen on Lake Constance, as a lecturer at the Leopold Mozart College at the University of Augsburg and regularly gives master classes in Slovenia, Romania, Spain, Belgium, San Marino etc.

She has received numerous awards for her outstanding commitment, her visionary projects and her intercultural commitment.

Dana Ciocarlie, pianist

In 2018, Dana Ciocarlie is finalist nominated in « Victoires de la musique » annual National Award in France, for her live recording of the complete Schumann piano works. This monumental production has been recorded in 15 concerts in Paris between 2012 and 2016. It was released in September 2017 for the french label La Dolce Volta /Harmonia Mundi, and received numerous prizes: The International Crtics Award, »Choc de l’année » grand prize of « Classica » Magazine (France), « Joker » distinction from « Crescendo » magazine in Belgium. Top 10 Classical Choices of the yea on « Billboard » Japan.
Since 2022 she began the live recording of the complete Mozart piano concertos, with the Open Chamber Orchestra conducted by Yaïr Benaïm.

The first source of Dana Ciocarlie's piano-playing was the Romanian piano school wherefrom also have emerged Clara Haskil and Dinu Lipatti. After a first degree in Bucarest, she then later attended Dominique Merlet's and Georges Pludermacher's classes at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.

Endowed with a quick-witted and mercurial temperament, combined with generosity and commitment, Dana Ciocarlie has a vast repertoire ranging from Johann-Sebastian Bach to contemporary composers. Some of these, including Horatiu Radulescu, Edith Canat de Chizy, Karol Beffa, Dan Dediu, Jacques Lenot, Frédéric Verrières, Nicolas Bacri and Helena Winkelman have written specially for her. Her experience and her talent were rewarded with numerous prizes in prestigious competitions: a second prize at the Robert Schumann International Competition in Zwickau, the Sandor Vegh Special Prize at the Geza Anda Competition in Zurich, the Pro Musicis International Prize, the Young Concert Artist European Auditions Award in Leipzig, and a prize at the Ferruccio Busoni Competition in Italy.

Since January 2017, she had been endorsed Yamaha Official Artist by Yamaha Music Europe GmbH.

Dana Ciocarlie currently teaches at the faculty of the Lyon’s Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (National Academy of Music in Lyon).

Dana Ciocarlie’s numerous recitals and concerts with orchestras throughout the world have taken her to the Japan, Brazil, United States, Canada, Russia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and she is annually touring in China since 2007. She has performed in most European countries and in France - her country of residence—, concerts have taken her to in Paris: Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, L’Olympia, Salle Gaveau, Cité de la Musique, the Orsay Museum, the Auditorium du Louvre; and in La Roque d'Anthéron International Piano Festival, Radio-France Festival, La F***e Journée in Nantes, Piano aux Jacobins Festival in Toulouse. In Germany she performed in Gewandhaus Lepzig, in Schumann Festsiepel in Zwickau, in Schloss Elmau’s Chamber Music Week, in WDR concert season, in Usedom Festival. In the USA she played in New York Lincoln Center, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, in Boston Jordan Hall. In Russia: Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovski Conservatory, in the Transsiberian Arts Festival in Novosibirsk. Among her favorite musical partners figure the conductors Horia Andreescu, Lawrence Foster, Yoav Talmi, Frédéric Chaslin, pianists Christian Zacharias, Anne Quéffelec, Philippe Bianconi, violonists Gilles Apap, Nicolas Dautricourt, Laurent Korcia, the violoncellists Alexandre Kniazev, Astrig Siranossian and Marc Coppey, french horn player David Guerrier and the string quartets Minguet, ,Diotima and Talich, the Berlin Philharmonic String Quintet.

Her 21 recordings were highly acclaimed by the specialised musical press who recognised in her the humility of the great and compared her musicality even to that of Wilhelm Kempff and Clara Haskil.
