Adventure is our middle name.
Every year, this group of Dutch guys look for a challenging holiday and they choose to learn a new activity. Something new and fun, to push their limits a bit. This year, they chose us. 🧗‍♂️
And where could you spend a better holiday during the heat wave, if not high in the mountains? The cool canyon where we went abseiling was the perfect activity for a hot summer day. And a night spent in a mountain cabin at 1600 m altitude after a splendid hike is always the best way to cool down the body and the spirit.

The benefits of outdoor activities for children are countless. Besides forgetting about the toxic screens which rule their lives, children learn how to deal with their emotions while hiking. And we agree, it's not always easy to hike when it's very hot outside or when the ascent seems that it will never end. 💪
It's nice to see this energy that grows in the middle of an outdoor group of kids. They discover ways of encouraging each other, of pushing the limits and they learn ways of enjoying themselves in situations that wouldn't happen every day.
That's what we built with a group of international students (children and teenagers) in the mountains around Brașov. And they loved it! Let the kids explore the great outdoors and they will not find time nor money for other dangerous temptations 😉.

Throwback to the Bucovina trip, only half a month ago. Bucovina, the land of flowers and green beech trees. Austrians called it Buchenland in the past, when this region was part of their empire. And they were right, the beech woods are dense and lovely.
Bucovina, where the wine tastes good and the food is divine. Where old monastic monuments are still impressive even after 5-6 centuries. Where traditions are still alive.

Being in nature is a privilege. In our normal lives, everything else is a human construct and we tend to forget that nature is part of us.
During wildlife tours, we explore ways of bringing nature to you. The pace is different and we are no longer in a rush like in a big city. We cherish silence and we train our patience. We accept that wildlife encounters can happen or not, as they depend on so many factors that we humans don't feel in the same way as bears, for example. We understand that we cannot control the weather, although we live in a speedy world where things take place quicker than a click.

At the latest wildlife tour by Travel Carpathia in the Făgăraș mountains, we had the pleasure to spend 3 isolated days with a mixed group of hikers from the UK and Romania. We had no phone connection, but we enjoyed a deeper connection: with nature and the creatures around us. We were even lucky to spot the European Bison grazing in the rain and plenty of birds singing at sunrise. Simply wonderful to be able to witness all that!

Documentary photo tour in one of the most remote villages in Romania. We had the pleasure to guide a group of Dutch photographers led by the talented Jeroen Toirkens via Nordic Vision Fotoreizen and to show them "the Enchanted Way" that William Blacker described so beautifully in his book about Romania.

Via Transilvanica. Romania's 1400-km enchanted El Camino. The Path that Unites. The path that brings people closer to nature, closer to their Roots. The hiking trail which connects the North to South, the past to present.

This time, we explored Terra Dacica and the 2000-year old archeological sites near Retezat National Park. Our guests, "Schwaben" from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany and "șvabi" from Banat, Romania via George Turism, were curious to discover and learn more about our ancestors and about the famous route that crosses Romania.
It was a 5-day trip in a less popular region of Romania, with no crowds, no mass-tourism. Instead, we had the mountains and the hills just for ourselves.
