This is the time if it will help to:
1. Breathe Slow/Acknowledge and Accept Your Feelings:
โข It's normal to feel fear, anxiety, or even numbness during times of adversity. Don't try to suppress these feelings but rather acknowledge them as a natural response to a difficult situation.
โข Allow yourself to experience these emotions without judgment. Journaling or talking about your feelings can be helpful.
2. Limit Exposure to Media:
โข Constant news updates and social media consumption can exacerbate anxiety and distress. Set boundaries on how much time you spend consuming news, particularly before bed.
โข Mute triggering content and avoid social media if it is negatively impacting your mental state.
3. Prioritize Physical and Mental Wellbeing:
โข Maintain a Routine:
A consistent routine can provide a sense of stability during chaotic times. Try to stick to your usual sleep schedule, mealtimes, and activities as much as possible.
โข Engage in Calming Activities:
Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing exercises, praying etc. Gentle physical activity like walking can also help release tension.
โข Stay Connected:
Talk to trusted friends, family, or support groups. Sharing your feelings can help you feel less isolated and realize others may be experiencing similar emotions.
โข Seek Professional Help:
If you are struggling to cope with anxiety or other mental health challenges, consider reaching out to a psychologist or other mental health professional.
4. Focus on What You Can Control:
โข Self-Care:
Make time for activities that bring you peace and help you relax, such as hobbies, spending time in nature, or listening to music.
โข Kindness and Compassion:
Practicing kindness towards yourself and others can be a powerful way to cope with stress and build resilience.
โข Grounding Techniques:
Use techniques like deep breathing, focusing on your senses, or engaging in your favourite activity to help ground yourself in the present moment when feeling overwhelmed.
5. Remember that it's Okay not to be Okay and it is ok to ask for help, asking for help is not a sign of weakness but it a smart, brave move!
We wish you all peace, health, safety and send you our love.

I want to thank all the founders and organisers of the Qatar for highlighting subjects of highly importance for our human healthcare.
In 2026, digital psychosomatic health and AI-driven healthcare are essential for addressing the global shortage of mental health professionals and the rising complexity of conditions. By merging behavioral data with physiological metrics, these technologies enable precision medicine that treats the mind and body holistically, reducing the time spent on trial-and-error treatments.

Invitation for all mental health professionals.
The Clinical Psychology Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, together with the MEPA Qatar Country Chapter, is hosting a social-professional gathering for clinicians and mental health professionals across Qatar.
Our goal is to create a space where our community can come together in the same room. So many of us are doing meaningful work, yet often in isolation and without many chances to talk, share, or support one another.
This evening is an opportunity to meet, reconnect, and speak about the realities weโre each facing in practice, and to start imagining what we can build when weโre not working in silos, for a more collaborative and coordinated future for psychology and mental health in Qatar.
It will be an informal, relaxed, interactive, and social evening, with time to talk, think together and aloud, develop genuine connections, and strengthen our network.
The event is catered and a light dinner will be served.
We hope you can join us ๐

Instead of demanding transformation from yourself, try offering this:
A softer pace.
A kinder voice.
A deeper respect for what your mind and body carried.
You donโt need to become someone new next year. You just need more moments where you feel like yourself.
Wishing you a year that treats your nervous system gently โ and gives you space to breathe.

We often blame ourselves for lacking motivation. But motivation is unreliable โ it rises and falls with energy, stress, sleep, hormones, life.
The real anchors are softer skills:
Understanding your limits.
Pacing your energy.
Regulating your nervous system.
Speaking to yourself with kindness instead of pressure.
Motivation comes and goes. Capacity is what keeps you moving โ steadily, sustainably, humanly.

You donโt need winter for your energy to shift. Your nervous system follows cycles that have nothing to do with climate: Inner pacing, emotional load, transitions, endings.
If December feels heavier, itโs not the temperature โ itโs the timing.
Your body senses the close of a year, the changes in routine, the pressure of wrapping things up. Listen to what it asks for. Not every season is meant for acceleration.

As the year ends, many of us judge ourselves harshly: โDid I do enough? Did I grow enough?โ
But meaningful reflection isnโt about performance โ itโs about awareness.
๐ฑ Ask yourself:
โข What did I learn about myself this year?
โข What helped me feel grounded?
โข What drained me โ and why?
Growth is rarely loud. Sometimes the quietest shifts are the most important ones.

Not every form of healing is loud. Not every step forward looks like progress.
Sometimes wellbeing lives in small, almost invisible moments โ the ones we often overlook because they feel โtoo simpleโ to matter.
Like the pause before you respond.
The breath you didnโt rush.
The five quiet minutes at the end of the day.
The message you finally sent to someone you trust.
The moment you noticed your own tension and softened it.
These arenโt trivial. They are signals to your nervous system that youโre safe enough to slow down, safe enough to feel, safe enough to take up space again.
Healing isnโt built only on breakthroughs. Sometimes itโs built on tiny, gentle choices โ repeated softly, consistently, kindly.
Your small moments matter more than you think.

Support shouldnโt depend on privilege, personality, or circumstance. Every human deserves safety, dignity, and access to mental care.
As we talk about human rights today, remember this:
Emotional wellbeing is not a luxury lifestyle choice. Itโs a universal human need.
When mental health becomes accessible to all, communities donโt just feel better โ they function better.

Disability isnโt just about the body. Itโs also about the barriers society builds โ and the ones we quietly overlook.
Emotional, social, physical, digital accessibility, they all matter. Because feeling included isnโt a privilege โ itโs psychological safety.
Today, letโs pause and ask: โHow can I make my environment kinder, clearer, and more accessible to others?โ
Small changes shift entire experiences. Inclusion starts long before infrastructure โ it starts in mindset.

HIV doesnโt only affect the body โ it affects the way people are treated, seen, and spoken about. And stigma can leave wounds deeper than the condition itself.
Today is a reminder that compassion is protective.
Respect is protective.
Accurate information is protective.
When we replace fear with understanding, we create space for dignity โ and dignity is healing. You donโt fight stigma with silence. You fight it with humanity. And every conversation matters.
