Puttalam Assenkudhoos Muslim Vidyalayam Triumphs in U16 North Western Province Final

Puttalam Assenkudhoos Muslim Vidyalayam emerged as the champions of the U16 North Western Province after a thrilling final against St. John Paul II English Medium College Network. The match, held in the heart of the province, was an intense battle that showcased the talent and determination of both teams.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw at full time, leading to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. In the end, Assenkudhoos Muslim Vidyalayam held their nerve, securing a 4-3 victory in the penalties to clinch the championship title. This victory marks a significant achievement for the school and highlights the hard work and dedication of the players and coaching staff.

However, the U18 category presented a different outcome for Assenkudhoos Muslim Vidyalayam. Despite their best efforts, they fell short in the final against Maliyadewa College. The match also ended in a 1-1 draw, pushing the contest into a penalty shootout. Unfortunately, Assenkudhoos couldn't replicate their U16 success and lost 4-2 in the penalties, finishing as the runner-up in the U18 category.

This year’s tournament was a mix of joy and heartbreak for Puttalam Assenkudhoos Muslim Vidyalayam, but their performance in both categories has undoubtedly established them as a formidable force in North Western Province football. Their U16 championship win will be remembered as a highlight of the season, while the U18 team's efforts will serve as motivation for future success.

Our T.H.A.Zakee Zain from Puttalam has been selected as the “Captain” of the “Sri Lanka National Sepaktakraw team” recently.

It is also worth noting that he has played effectively in International Competitions on behalf of SriLanka in National Team which consists five athletes including him.
Above one is a proud and blessing moment to Puttalam. This should be appreciated.
