From scriptwriting, directing, to editing, the students poured their passion and creativity into honing their journalistic skills. 📰✨

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗱𝗲: 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽

To mark the beginning of a new chapter for aspiring campus journalists, Labas Senior High School launched Call to Lede, a two-day training and workshop held on August 9 and 16, 2025. The program was designed not only to sharpen the technical skills of campus journalists but also to inspire them to view journalism as both a passion and a responsibility that can go beyond competitions.

Moreover, the TV Broadcasting team joined the event, actively participating in hands-on activities that strengthened their skills in scriptwriting and knowing the elements, technicals, and do's/don'ts in making a news article. This allowed members to expand their expertise in honing their skills further.

The news writing session was facilitated by Former Ang Kampilan Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Ken Jansen Vinuya, who shared valuable insights on the craft and ethics of journalism. More than a competition-oriented training, Call to Lede aimed to instill in its participants the values of integrity, responsibility, and social awareness, highlighting journalism as a powerful instrument for truth-telling and societal change.

Guided by experienced mentors, Labas Senior High School’s future campus journalists now stand ready to lead with skill, purpose, and a commitment to making a difference not by merely competing for clout, but by embodying the true values of a certified campus journalist.

The LSHS TV Broadcasting team is now ready to face the challenge of the most awaited season of the year — Road to DSPC!

𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

The journey to the Regional Schools Press Conference is well underway! Following the holiday break, our dedicated TV Broadcasting team has been engaged in intensive training sessions from the second week of January up until their departure for RSPC.

As part of their preparation, the team participated in a two-day training at Santa Rosa City Elementary School—Central 2, collaborating with professional coaches and fellow students from Aplaya National High School's TV Broadcasting English team, as well as Online Publishing teams from Labas Senior High School and Santa Rosa City Science and Technology High School.

These experiences are shaping our young broadcasters into skilled professionals ready to showcase their talents on a larger stage!

Labas Senior High School — In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, the TV Broadcasting team from Labas Senior High School secured 2nd place at the Division School's Press Conference held at Macabling Elementary School last November 2024. This achievement highlights the hard work and commitment of the students and their coaches.

The Santa Rosa City Division School's Press Conference brought together various schools, providing a platform for young journalists and broadcasters to showcase their skills. The Labas team participated in several categories, demonstrating their proficiency in reporting, production, and on-screen presentation.

Under the guidance of dedicated coaches, the students honed their skills through rigorous training sessions, often facing challenges such as limited facilities during their preparation. Their perseverance paid off as they delivered outstanding performances that impressed both judges and peers alike.

The team’s success is a testament to their passion for broadcasting and their ability to work collaboratively under pressure. Each member contributed unique strengths, resulting in a cohesive and dynamic presentation that resonated with the audience.

The achievement of 2nd place not only reflects the team's talent but also underscores the supportive environment fostered at Labas Senior High School. The administration and faculty provided valuable resources and encouragement, empowering students to pursue their passions.

As they celebrate this significant accomplishment, the Labas Senior High School TV Broadcasting team looks forward to future competitions, eager to build on their success and continue developing their skills in journalism and broadcasting. The experience gained at the Division School's Press Conference will undoubtedly serve as a foundation for their continued growth in the field.
