Not a regular collection but a cork collection that is now wearable all year. Throughout history cork has been used in a variety of ways, however, due to some of its natural ch
aracteristics, the usage of cork in wet conditions was impossible since rain weakened cork causing erosion – until now! We have discovered a secret formula that waterproofs cork without altering or loosing any of the cork’s natural elements allowing for the creation and usage of cork boots and shoes throughout rainy weather. Finally, cork will be used during summer, spring, autumn and winter in the most fashionable way possible – on your feet. The formula - That’s the secret! As the warm weather approaches women embrace the sun in the most fashionable way possible, reaching out for their cork wedges, sandals and shoes. We wanted to allow women to continue their journey throughout the seasons of the year wearing cork, cork shoes, cork boots, cork sneakers, etc. With this objective in mind, we needed to find a way to make cork resistant to harsher and wet weather without damaging or breaking. And so, the project began. Together with CTCOR (Centro Tecnológico da Cortiça – Portugal), the research was initiated to find a formula that would protect the cork making it waterproof without altering in any way the cork’s characteristics. The journey took two years and finally the formula was discovered! Corteeza was born. Beautiful and original outsoles were designed, inspired on nature’s natural shapes and dipped into the magic formula making them wearable all year.
