In today's publication, we present a case study on the remote monitoring of a transtibial prosthesis user for functional-level assessment. Daily step data collection demonstrated that traditional evaluation methods were underestimating the patient's ability to perform daily activities in real-life conditions, thereby misjudging their functional level.

Our Clinical Specialist Vanessa Carvalho, CPO, will be at AAOP Chicago presenting a paper that showcases the potential benefits of utilising wearable technology to enhance the insights available to clinicians during functional evaluations of individuals with lower limb prostheses. This abstract involved evaluating four patients by gathering outcome measures during in-clinic sessions and utilising a pedometer on a daily basis for eight days.
