Hoi An is Lantern Town. Some shops have a lot of lanterns for sale. The vast majority just takes photos and then they leave. So shop owners now ask money for taking photos.

Another rice paddies related image. It is smoke season now. After harvest all the leftovers are burnt, no matter how much smoke it will cause. Sometimes you can’t see anything on even the busiest roads, yet no one thinks this is an important issue. You plant rice, you harvest and then you burn. That's how it goes.

At the moment it is harvest time in Hoi An. This is a typical scene you can see anywhere near the rice paddies. Although she warned me that it was going to be itchy I was OK in the end. Keep the sun behind you and watch out for wires.
